I can answer this - I think.
I don’t think Planned Parenthood sees it this way. They simply don’t get it. You and I get it, but they see unwanted pregnancy as an unfortunate mistake and not the will of God as you or I would.
My parish priest said that sex with a condom is the moral equivalent of masturbation. Only difference is (obviously) you are using somebody to get the job done. Masturbation does not make anyone pregnant and neither does using a condom, most of the time. I understand why masturbation is a sin, but I’m inclined to say that if a person has a weak moment and uses a condom to have sex - ESP. with somebody they barely know - then I’ll have to say that this is a lesser sin than an abortion or even being on the pill. Being on the pill, to me involves a sort of “premeditation” to have illicit sex. Hypothetcally, a person may be trying to avoid sexual sin and just kinda find themselves in a bind one day with the condom scenario.
If a condom fails to do its job and the woman gets pregnant, then by no means should she have an abortion. However, if the condom works and the woman stays un-pregnant, then there is nothing preventing her and the guy from going to confession and trying not to do it again. why beat them up for not having the added responsibility of having a child to tend to? I know it sounds a little bit liberal on my part, but people make mistakes, too.
