Just a bit of wonder.
Few things irritate me more than when someone claims to know who is damned. Only God knows that, and in case you haven’t noticed, you are not God. And as a Christian, aren’t you supposed to be praying for the forgiveness of sinners? If God desires that all men be saved, why shouldn’t you? Not to mention the fact that God doesn’t damn people for mental illness. Would you disagree?Well, he was a manic-depressive, so there’s no telling. Since he’s been roasting in hell for 500 years, he might be willing to try catholicism again. Maybe he’s learned a lesson. Roanoker
Definitely not Lutheran. Luther did not support the rights of homosexuals while some Lutherans do, for example Swedish Lutheran preachers participated in a gay parade in Stockholm.Just a bit of wonder.
Wow. So Christ-like of you. I am sure He would be proud.Well, he was a manic-depressive, so there’s no telling. Since he’s been roasting in hell for 500 years, he might be willing to try catholicism again. Maybe he’s learned a lesson. Roanoker
This angers me to no end and is completely un-Christian to say.Well, he was a manic-depressive, so there’s no telling. Since he’s been roasting in hell for 500 years, he might be willing to try catholicism again. Maybe he’s learned a lesson. Roanoker
Thank you, jesusluv. Why do these sorts of attitudes exist? And I do not mean within just one branch of Christianity; I mean in EVERY branch! This angers me to no end and is completely un-Christian to say.
LOL!None would suit him; he would start his own.

ah, there we go. Now your post makes sense.Luther was a very unintelligent man. Modern breakthroughs would convince him that religion in general is junk & superstition. He would become an agnostic.![]()
You would flip your lid if a Protestant said that about a pope or other Catholic leader. Why is it you get the right to assault the statements of others when they are not meant to attack anyone else? I would start naming some of the popes who have been murderers, thieves, adulterers etc, but then that might lower me to your level. Why do so many people have to make such mean remarks that are meant to attack and insult? Is that what this forum is about?ah, there we go. Now your post makes sense.
His statement did seem a tad offensive to all believer all around. You would flip your lid if a Protestant said that about a pope or other Catholic leader. You know what, though? That is absolutely fine if none of us like him! That is the beauty of being able to talk and share ideas. But it crosses the line when people, purposefully, say things that are meant to hurt. Regardless, I really appreciate the way you put your feeling towards Luther. A civil tone like that can lead to great civil conversation. His statement did seem a tad offensive to all believer all around.
Anyway, can’t say i’m a big fan of Luther either, two birds with one stone, quite a deal.
It doesn’t matter what Luther would come back as.
He was a highly intelligent, principled, brave, motivated man who wrote good hymns, and was also rigid, angry, and difficult like many reformers have been throughout the ages.

If *Luther **hadn’t started out objecting to indulgences and ended up launching the Reformation, someone else would have.
There were a host of great reformers after Luther. Reform was inevitable, given the condition of the RCC at the time. As far as I’m concerned Luther did the RCC a huge favor, and I think many *Catholic *theologians agree.
That Trent was needed, no Catholic will deny. That schism was needed, every Catholic should deny.

John Paul II even agreed with your last comment somewhat. Here is the link to what he worked on with Lutherans about 10 years ago. And for you detractors, it came from the Vatican, not some heretical, Protestant ape.
