If Mary was born without original sin, why then did Jesus say?

Giver is wrong because all men are sinners no matter how hard you try and be like Christ, you are way off course.

Give to Ceasar what Is Ceasars and give to God what is Gods. Do not divide the land among you but rather be rewarded for your service of distribution. This rock was put here for all of us to use and it neeeds to be managed and protected in a unified and professional manner.

MrS:
If concupicence - the tendacy to sin - is part of mankind… and it appears that both [Adam and Eve] had the tendacy to sin (or else they would not have),

perhaps they did have a “form” or original sin.

just thoughts prompted by your response…:hmmm:
They didn’t have a “form” of original sin; they had free will, and were tempted by the devil, then sinned–but before they had no tendency. From then on Man had original sin. But it had to originate somewhere, no?

MrS:
curious… why are you no longer Catholic. Giver has not said, but perhaps you will share with us…
I am no longer a Catholic, because God has taught me that no denominational church is teaching the Word of God. Being submitted to the authority of a church would make it almost impossible to do the work that Jesus has asked me to do.

So much for the gates of Hell not prevailing…

Which brings me back to my earlier question: Since Jesus talks to you, why don’t you ask him these questions instead of coming here and insulting both Catholics and intelligence? You’re obviously not interested in learning anything, but instead seek to convert others to your way of thinking (and I emphasize that it is your way, not God’s).

When Jesus gives you these special communications, how do you test the spirit? Does Jesus contradict scripture when he speaks to you? Scripture tells us to test the spirit.

I would love to share how I know it is the Spirit of Jesus, but not on this forum or thread. If you sincerely would care to know, send me a personal message.

I don’t believe in denominations either. That’s why I’m Catholic. 😃

Why do you believe the Catholic Church is not teaching the Word of God?

You have not really explained how your conclusion follows from the facts. Are you saying that one cannot submit to the authority of the Church because they must submit to the authority of Christ? Why do these two “submissions” have to be mutually exclusive. When I was a child I submitted to the authority of my parents, but I also submitted to the authority of the local, state, and federal governments by obeying the laws. Was I rejecting my mother and father by obeying the laws of the state, or was I rejecting the authority of the state by recognizing the authority of my parents over me in matters of family and daily living? Isn’t it the same with the Church that Christ founded on Peter and the other Apostles…
[15] if I am delayed, you may know how one ought to behave in the household of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and bulwark of the truth. (1 Tim 3:15)
…to pass along the truth that he taught to successive generations? If I am submitting to Christ’s Church, how am I placing myself into a position where it is “almost impossible” to do Christ’s work. Perhaps it is simply your own works that are in conflict with the works Christ wants from you?

I am sorry, but this subject shouldn’t be discussed on this thread. If you want an answer from me it will have to be in a private message.

Why shouldn’t it be discussed on this thread – you brought it up. You chose to answer MrS’s question even though it was directed at another poster.

Besides, you long ago stopped talking about the question you posed in the original post, so what’s stopping you now?

Start a new thread if you would like, titled something like “Why the Word of God is not truthfully taught by any denomination”.

Peace,

I’m sorry. Maybe I misunderstood the path this thread was taking. It began with a question regarding certain Marian doctrines, and during the course of the discussion you indicated that you found you could not accept the Catholic Church because it was not teaching the Word of God. I was assuming that you were eluding to the Marian dogmas as your basis for this assumption. I was simply asking you to confirm my understanding, but perhaps I was not clear in my post. It was not my intention of diverting the conversation.

That being said, I’m not interested in a private conversation with you about your beliefs. Perhaps we can start a new thread to discuss the issue in the forum, if you feel my question is distracting you and others from the original topic - “If Mary was born without original sin, …”
