My 24 year old son moved out. We are Roman Catholic. My son is living with his girlfriend and her mother. I am horrified with his behavior as I have told him this is morally wrong. He does not seem to care and now states he wants to marry her on a beach, which again horrifies me as it will not be a sacrament… They have dated for 5 months. She is Christian, not Catholic. When she come over she will not look me in the eye. I find it difficult to put a a fake smile for her when I see her as I am angry with my son and her. She also stated if she married him and this was one month into their relationship she would get married in the Catholic Church but this is not the case anymore. My son is talking about buying her an engagement ring at Christmas. If he would do this is it wrong for me to attend as my husband would be furious with me if I did not attend his wedding, even though I believe a church wedding is valid (not at a beach). Kathy.
