~honest question~
Because Christ founded the Church and gave it apostolic authority to hand down his teachings throughout the ages.~honest question~
ok…Because Christ founded the Church and gave it apostolic authority to hand down his teachings throughout the ages.
Are you saying I and other don’t have faith in Jesus? If one has faith in Christ they MUST join-return to the Church otherwise, they would clearly be demonstrating that they do not have faith in Christ.
I like taking communion alsoYou should “join” or “return to” the Catholic Church because it is the only place where you can receive Jesus in the Eucharist. Several years ago after my husband passed away I made a one-day retreat on the Eucharist given by Fr. Ron Rolheiser – he was so profound that I made a promise to myself that I would try to go to Mass every day to receive Jesus in the Eucharist. Believe me, it’s the only thing that keeps me going – I might recommend that you read one of Fr. Rolheiser’s books because he’s unbelievable!!!
Because Jesus loves you,and its the church He gave the keys to the kingdom to, all are welcome, sinners tax colllectors etc. etc.~honest question~
Clearly, that is not enough. For do not even the demons believe? Are you saying I and other don’t have faith in Jesus?
Hi there LookAround.I like taking communion also![]()
I don’t see how that is connected to what I quotedClearly, that is not enough. For do not even the demons believe?
you are correct receive is the better wordHi there LookAround. Please note that I am not in any way berating, insulting, or being negative to you in saying this. However, a few years ago just before I converted to Catholicism, I would also say that I liked to take Communion. Well, someone corrected me and told me that we don’t “take” Communion, we receive Communion.
I’m really not exactly sure why I was corrected but I figure someone else will explain.

You asked if faith in Christ was enough. Clearly, it is not. For even the demons believe, and shudder.I don’t see how that is connected to what I quoted![]()
No. The CC does not state that only Catholics believe in Christ. The member I quoted seem to be saying only Catholics believe in Christ.
Is that the Roman Catholic position?
Are you talking about the scriptures? He did not command that a book be written. Nevertheless, the Holy Spirit inspired certain writings, and his Church gathered and canonized those which it recognized as inspired. But his Church did not wait for the book before it began proclaiming the Gospel and celebrating the Eucharist.
I understand, you are referring to the OP. I was confused because you quoted a specific post. You asked if faith in Christ was enough.
So what else must be added?Clearly, it is not. For even the demons believe, and shudder.
So why join?Nor does the CC state that one must convert to Catholicism to be in heaven.
