If Saint Fiacre hated women, will he pray for them?

I’ve had longstanding issues with Piles (pelvic floor disorder plus my medications). Saint Fiacre is the patron saint of piles but whenever I pray for him to intercede on my behalf…nothing really happens.

I’m dead serious about this question…is it because I’m a lady? I’ve read he disliked women greatly and wonder if that’s it.

I am doing all the homecare issues I can, avoiding foods I’m allergic too, but still my rear is giving me trouble :(.

Thanks!

Maybe he is answering you by NOT answering you in the way you wish. Maybe he wants you to go to a Doctor and have theses issues resolved. Prayer is good and coupled with action makes it all the better. Go to a Doctor if at all possible.

St. Fiacre didn’t allow women in his monastery. I don’t think that’s necessarily the same as hating women. This was not an uncommon practice.

Even if he had a personal failing, and I don’t think it’s necessarily true that he did, do you think in Heaven they are still xenophobic?

Mt. Athos has been excluding women for a long time. Although I’ve heard that they sheltered some during the Greek Civil War. I don’t think the island full of monks just hates women, though!

Continue to pray. But accept whatever is the result of your prayers. You know that thus far God has deemed it better that you continue to be afflicted. You don’t know about tomorrow. It’s your duty to continue prayer. If nothing else, it will keep your soul humble and subject to God and in communion with His saints.

For my part, I will pray for you now.

May God bless you,
Holy Mary, pray for her,
St. Fiacre, pray for her!

Also as well as pray to st fiacre why not pray for the holy souls in purgatory and at the same time ask god to grant you through their prayers and intercession your prayer request

Heres what the catechism says

958 Communion with the dead. "In full consciousness of this communion of the whole Mystical Body of Jesus Christ, the Church in its pilgrim members, from the very earliest days of the Christian religion, has honored with great respect the memory of the dead; and ‘because it is a holy and a wholesome thought to pray for the dead that they may be loosed from their sins’ she offers her suffrages for them."500 Our prayer for them is capable not only of helping them, but also of making their intercession for us effective.

…read both links in my signature in this post to see all the favours that people are receiving through the prayers and intercession of the holy souls in purgatory…

God bless you

I don’t think the saints in Heaven “hate” anyone, do you?

I thought St. Francis was great friends with St. Clare. I will pray for you.

If he still problems with women, he would probably would have issues with Mary, queen of heaven and earth, or with the other women saints.

Aren’t saints purified of their failings before they are allowed in heaven?

Jesus asked God to let the cup pass from him and he got crucified anyway. I don’t think if a prayer is not “answered” in the way we want that it suggests the recipient of the prayer might “hate” the petitioner. As others said, everyone in heaven loves.

I never heard of St. Fiacre.

Anyway, do what your doctor tells you. Keep praying as well. Maybe soon you can put the problem behind you.

My husband used to work for Pyle National in Chicago. When asked what Pyle National did, I told people they manufacture piles. I just thought I would throw that in for a little humor.

Thanks everyone!

I’ve been the doctor, there’s not really anything to “do” at this point.

Saint Fiacre has helped me in the past, but I always read about how he disliked women and wondered if saints could be prejudiced, now I don’t worry :).

Thanks again!
