If someone can pray for me for 15 continuous days, I will be free

I have fallen very badly into porn once again. Some external pressures on me caused me to seek this escape route. I had not watched porn since a long time, but yesterday evening I fell so badly into it that the effect continued till today and I couldn’t stop myself from indulging in hours of porn.

I’ve observed that whenever people pray for me, I do well. It had happened earlier. Some of you prayed for me and I did so well during that time.

I just want to ask a favour. Can someone pray for me 15 days in a row? I know it’s a big favour that I am asking and I also know that I will never be able to repay you for doing it. But I will pray that God may reward you and bless you.

I just feel that if someone does it for 15 continous days, I’ll be totally healed from this problem. I’ve never gone without masturbating for 15 days ever since I fell into it in my childhood years. If I can do it for 15 days, I’ll get the confidence I need to overcome this problem any time in the future.

I will pray for you. I am also asking St. Michael the Archangel to defend you in this battle. I ask you pray for me, as I am also suffering with masturbation.

Prayer is a good start but in my experience, failure was always right around the corner. For years, no matter what I tried every attempt that I made to stop both habits at the same time led to failure. Masturbation is always the end result of private porn viewing. If you want to escape this viscious trap, you must separate your masturbating from your porn viewing. Immediately destroy every shread of porn in your house. Give yourself permission to skip the porn the next time you KNOW you are going to masturbate. Use no “visual aids” whatsoever and that includes the underwear ads… no exceptions. Any use of visual aids and you will be right back to porn in no time! After you’ve fallen, immediately say an Act of Contrition and thank God for giving you the ability to complete this critical first step.

Remember, you are on the road to purity, and you’ve just stuck a hunting knife into the chest of purity’s worst enemy, this demon called porn. Get thee to a confessional at the first reasonable opportunity.

Get into the habit of guarding your eyes and ears of all things that lead to impure thoughts. Television and movies must be selected with care. Clean up your speech and personal habits and pray fervently asking for grace, patience and forgiveness. Ask God to help you by filling your mind with the innocence of your boyhood when your mind was filled with baseball, schoolwork, and playing games with your friends! One of the things that I mourned the most after looking at porn was the loss of my innocence. **As your mind purifies itself your masturbating will slow to a stop. **After a 35 year struggle, this is how I finally escaped the snare of this sin! 👍

This is not an endorsement of masturbation, but the masturbating will NOT stop until your mind starts to become more pure. If you are married, work on becoming the most loving and giving husband you can possibly be. Focus all of your sexual energy into the marriage bed. If you are not married, ask God to send you a good catholic girl to become your wife. Pray for your future wife every day. Frequent confession, prayer and weekly Mass should become your best friends. I’ll pray for you. 🙂

I will pray for you daily. I have a guy friend who is very, very devout. He’s a very good man, loves God and lives a true servant life, but he struggles with the same problems. When he falls, he gets back up
and he never gives up. God bless you and him for your faith and determination.

To thee I have recourse in all the dangers which daily surround me. Shield me against my enemies, inspire me to imitate thee in all things. May thy blessing be with me always, so that I may shun whatever God forbids and avoid the occasions of sin.

Graciously obtain for me from God those favors and graces of which I stand so much in need, in the trials, miseries and afflictions of life. Thy heart was always so full of love, compassion, and mercy toward those who were afflicted or troubled in any way. Thou didst never dismiss without consolation and assistance anyone who had recourse to thee. I therefore invoke thy powerful intercession, in the confident hope that thou wilt hear my prayers and obtain for me the special grace and favor I so earnestly implore (mention it), if it be for the greater glory of God and the welfare of my soul.

and get a St Benedict medal or crucifix and have a priest bless it.
 
Lord, I lift up to you in prayer, on this 4th day, CAF member SinfulMan, who needs the grace to overcome his addiction. In Jesus name I pray. Mother Mary, please pray for this intention.
 
I’ll do 15 days starting today.

For practical advice for avoiding porn: Keep busy. Even if that means cleaning under the furniture rather than vacuuming around it like I usually do. 😃
