you life which book would you bring?

The Bible or the CCC?

I would hope the Bible! There is a reason why the Word of God is the one read at Mass and the one people study the most.

Why the CCC?🙂
It condenses and explains Sacred Scripture into practical guidelines, devotions, etc.

Great book. I can read a couple paragraphs in it and then I have to close the book and mediatate on what was written.

Many writings of saints, Dr’s of the Church, Popes, Apostolic quotes, etc. in it. I like to read what Pope Benedict has written and he was influencial in producing the CCC.

Me the Bible,

Now God performed a miracle and after spending 15 years on this desert Island by ourself
with just our one book, and no one else to even talk to except God , we all were rescused,

it would almost be like

Barbkw might disagree with the rest of us who only read the Bible for 15 years. Who would be right??🙂

Not an option you listed but the 4-volume LOTH (in French).

It contains most of the Bible one needs. It contains writings of the Church fathers some of which mastered hermitdom. It would allow me to pray with the Church even in isolation. It would help me pace my day and give me specific tasks to avoid going crazy.

French because I would get full comprehension (it’s my mother tongue), and I know some simple hymn melodies and neat psalm tones in French that would allow me to chant the offices.

Even better would be my 2-volume Monastic LOTH with my 2-year lectionary for even more scripture.

no one or the other, can’t have both, only one or the other. No cheating!
:nope:

did I mention the rest of the world has been flooded and we are the only survivors!!

Lol 😃 I thought it was worth a try.

Well if that’s the case, have one half bring Bibles and the other half bring CCC.

1/3, 1/3, 1/3 for someone to bring the LOTH. I read the Magnificat & understand the post on the LOTH.

So long as we didn’t have to end up eating each other as food, we’d all have a great time being stranded.

Yeah, lets have no Lord of the Flies stuff. 😃

Barbkw,

We would either have to put you in prison for hersey, or we’d

have to let you be our first Pope. 😉

If you had all that down pat,you wouldn’t need a book. Maybe just your rosary beads;)
Peace, Carlan
