Actually the Apostles creed summarized the teaching of the Apostles. The Bible came to be in order to codify the writings that were suitable for use in the divine liturgy of the Mass. The Bible was a liturgical book to be used in the public worship and not intended to be a self study guide to christianity subject to personal interpretations.As far as I know, the apostles creed summarized the teachings of the Bible.

The creed summarizes the teachings about God. Not what God has revealed. Nothing there about your neighbor, your conversion, your salvation or condemnation, good or evil, etc.As far as I know, the apostles creed summarized the teachings of the Bible.
Look at the CCC, the Creed is only Part 1 of 4 parts.
