There are millions of devout Muslims throughout the world, devoted to the one God, the creator of the Universe, the God of Abraham, Isaaic and Jacob. Why doesn’t the Holy Spirit lead them to the Catholic faith then?

Or for that matter Protestants … some are amazingly devoted to our Lord. Why doesn’t he lead them to the Eucharist then?

This tests my faith. Any words of encouragement out there?

Even if the Holy Spirit leads them to the Catholic Church they are required to respond. Remember the old saying, “You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make him drink.”

How true, how true.

Some have no means to learn the truth, as they are held hostage by governments that refuse to allow the Truth to free them from enslavement. Some do convert, but can never openly admit it as it is a death sentence where they are.

Again, some do convert. Every day, good Protestants are being lead to the Church.

We are all in a journey. Some are given the best map on day one, others have to wander some first. God calls to us when we are ready.

Well it’s our responsibility to let these people know. As Catholics, we are required to pass on what we have received, to evangelize, starting simply by allowing the Holy Spirit to work through us, which will give us the grace to spread the love of Christ to the ends of the earth.

I can’t say I’ve totally lived up to this. I’ve been a bit of a coward, especially among my closer friends and definitely my relatives. Prayers please!

It is illegal to own a Bible or teach the Christian faith to Muslims in Muslim countries. If a Muslim converts to Chiristianity, that Muslim can lose job, family/friends, and life.

There are Protestants/non-Catholic Christians drawn to the Catholic Church every day. Many convert. But, I think for some people it might be hard to convert to Catholicism because of family/friend issues.

I have known Protestants/non-Catholic Christians who have actually been taught by their pastor/church that Catholicism is wrong and evil. They will not ever look at or read out of a Catholic Bible to see with their own eyes that our Bibles say the same as theirs and I think that is very sad.

Jean.

I can’t think of a better way to die than for Christ.

i believe the Holy Spirit has been doing just that. many protestant ministers have been touched and journeyed home to the Catholic faith. some who converted have their congregations do the same. african muslims are converting to Christianity in droves. according to this site below, 16,000 do every year. let’s continue to pray for them.
God bless.

“The wind blows wherever it pleases… (John 3:8)”.Let’s allow the Holy spirit to do as He wills. Our thoughts, our ways are not God’s. Surely, the steady flow of our “separated brethren” back into the fold of the Church is testament to His works.

Ask the Holy spirit to increase your faith. Ask our Holy Mother to pray for your faith to increase. Read John 6. Know that there is absolute truth and that your faith is God’s gift to you. I don’t know why other Christians are blind about the Eucharist. But for some reason some eyes are being opened to the fullness of the truth and others are not. Some are anti-Catholic and so I think this hardens their hearts. Remember about the Eucharist, even most of Jesus’ disciples left him. Read John 6. The truth is also not easy to accept.

Hope this helps,

Dee

It is easy to say, harder to do. Why is willing martyrdom a fast-track to sainthood in the Church? Because only someone with a special gift of courage from the Holy Spirit would walk to the block singing. Many people SAY that they would die for Christ, but when faced with the chance, they balk. I am not saying that you would not be willing to do so, but do not judge those who do not.

Father Grochelle said it best: do not be too hard on those who were not willing to die for the faith, because they were the ones who kept the Chruch alive when the brave ones died.

I posed this question to my parish priest with reference especially to Islam not long ago.His response was why should they?Look at the filth of western societies:Pornography, materialism, the deification of sex,abortion,so-called same-sex “marriage”,obscene fashions, contempt of parental authority, the idolatry of youth, demonic media etc. They see our wanton societies and equate it with OUR faith.Until WE change ourselves and thusly our society most Muslims would recoil at adopting what they think are Christian “values”.

Believe me,I’m no fan of Islam but on SOME issues they are 100% correct.

**But the thing is, Mahomets are NOT devoted to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, but one that Mathomet (plbt) proclaimed as a result of his being deluded.

For more information, see this site:

Devoutness in and of itself is meaningless. Devotion to the TRUTH is what saves.**

Look how many Catholics there are who don’t seem to respond to the truth.

The way is narrow and those who enter by the gate of life are few. We do know that God offers the necessary means of salvation to every person and everyone has the opportunity to accept it (perhaps it is an interior illumination on their deathbed, who knows).

It’s best to believe and spread the truth and not speculate about the state of anyone else’s soul.

I’m not saying that I have that gift. I actually doubt I even have anything close to it 😦

That sums it up totally.

We have free will, which God will never override. One can have a devotion to God, but still unfortunately reject His Church. God will allow all of us our freedom of will. Some are invincibly ignorant. In serving others, we must always tell the truth about His Church. In the Church, we know that these who desire to love God, can actually have a more secure means of salvation, and come closer to Christ, knowing more fully the truth about Him, His Gospel, and His Sacraments. In regard to Ecumenism, a good rule was provided in Vatican II, in its Decree on Ecumenism: “It is altogether necessary that the complete doctrine be clearly presented. Nothing is so foreign to true Ecumenism as that false peace-making in which the purity of Catholic doctrine suffers loss, and its true and certain sense is obscured.” We are all better able to more truly know, love, and put trust in our Lord with the true teaching of the Gospel of our Lord, the God of all creation.

Hello Pellman,

Go to Confession and see if that helps…Confession (the Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation) is a powerful Sacrament.

Peace

Pellman,

Most of all of our Lord Miracles that we read in the Bible were people that CAME TO HIM! These received their Miracles

What about the millions that did not come to Jesus for a miracle obviously they did not get a miracle. These perhaps heard about Jesus, However God gave us all a free will to hear his voice or turn away. It is us who choose him or not and these at that time did not accept, did not believe did not recieve their miracle.

It is the Same with the Muslims, Budusts, … The Holy Spirit is showing the way to Jesus, but they do not accept, do not believe.

As for the Protestants, it’s about the same, the Holy Spirit is calling Protestants to the Eucharist and they too do not accept, do not believe. And one of the way’s the Holy Spirit is Calling the Protestants is being here at this Catholic Forum to know the TRUTH about the Eucharist that it is His Body and Blood 100%. Why else are these protestants here it is not of their own free will but by the Holy Spirit. AMEN

I tend to agree with the poster who said even if you lead them, they don’t have to respond.

We tend to assume the Holy Spirit isn’t leading them because we don’t see them responding (joining the catholic Church).

**The Holy Spirit may be leading you to lead them. Will you respond? 😃 No pressure! 🙂 **

Have faith.

Peace Be With You!
