and there really are copies of us in higher dimensions, as scientists now sometimes propose, was Jesus there too? I’ve heard there is only ONE Incarnation, so how can these be reconciled?
there may be a multiverse, but there will not be copies of us in another dimension. It is possible that there are creatures more intelligent than man out there, but I doubt that we would know about it in our lifetimes.and there really are copies of us in higher dimensions, as scientists now sometimes propose, was Jesus there too? … a mighty far-fetched “If”!and there really are copies of us in higher dimensions, as scientists now sometimes propose, was Jesus there too? I’ve heard there is only ONE Incarnation, so how can these be reconciled?
It’s not a scientific theory. It’s simply a conjecture. Theories are based on repeated testing and studies and meant to explain natural phenomena. This is simply a theory in science which has not and probably will never be proven. What does the Church say? The Church has no view on this so a Catholic is free to decide on this matter. There is only one incarnation, indeed. So how God would deal with sin in these other universes if they exist is unknown to us.
God exists out of space and time, so there would be only one Word (Jesus) even if the created world had multiple universes.and there really are copies of us in higher dimensions, as scientists now sometimes propose, was Jesus there too? I don’t have to reconcile it because it doesn’t exist. But for the sake of argument God can be in more than one universe at a time. How he deals with other universes may be different since they are different.and there really are copies of us in higher dimensions, as scientists now sometimes propose, was Jesus there too? I think that this is partly true. But IMHO, God also exists in time. For example, God exists and is present in the Eucharist. And God was walking around in a garden on earth thousands of years before Jesus was on earth.God exists out of space and time
God, in His goodness, can make Himself present to men, as in the Eucharist. However, “walking around in Eden” is considered an anthropomorphism even by conservative Biblical scholars, just like “the finger of God”.I think that this is partly true. So the Bible is wrong and God was not walking around in a garden? I think you’re in trouble if you start taking the Bible metaphorically.God, in His goodness, can make Himself present to men, as in the Eucharist.
