Nope, I refuse to take any drug that will change anything in me, shoot i barely like taking ibuprofen:p

probably, as long as it wasnt immoral. less temptation that way IMO

Probably, but only to help control current temptations until I broke the habit. That, and it would probably make my wife’s life a little bit easier.

That’s a tough question. On the one hand, it would make chastity immensely easier. On the other hand, one wonders if God would consider that cheating. “Putting one’s cross on a carriage,” so to speak?

If there were an anti-depressant that didn’t reduce libido, I would take that in a heartbeat, but since there isn’t, I take one that does reduce libido.

No. Sexual desire is part of being a human being.
What if you learned that normal libido is much less than the hyper-sexualized society which we live. These burning desires that people have for sex is not normal.

I agree that it’s not normal in the sense that it’s highly disordered. But, on the other hand, I’ ve always seen it as a consequence of the Fall and our concupiscense.

No, as there is glory to be had in overcoming sexual temptation. It’s a wonderful thing. Using a drug for this purpose is cheating, and where is the glory in that?

That speculative question couldn’t have been inspired by the holy spirit.

I think that you are staring a rant that is too generalized. Libido is part of the human nature, any disordered desire (e.g. lust) by its own definition is not part of the human nature. We can prevent and control disordered desires and behaviors through the virtues, we do not really need pills except in some extremely difficult cases.

What’s normal libido

Sexual intercourse twice a day, every day?

One a day, every day?

Twice a week?

Once a week?

Twice a month?

Once a month?

Once every six months?

Once a year?

Isn’t it an individual thing? That varies naturally between individuals and couples?
These burning desires that people have for sex is not normal
Oh well. I think normal is highly over-rated 🤷

I’ll stick with being abnormal and enjoying wild passionate atheistic animalistic sexual unions with my husband every day of the week :D:D:D

Normal libido is not quantified by the number of times that you do it with your spouse. For example disorder comes from thinking how many times you would like to do it with someone that is not your spouse, while your spouse is working on your marriage.

I do not know what to tell you but my personal take is that someone must be deeply disturbed if they are feeling attracted to any politician in any level of government.😃

I might if I was consistantly failing in chastity, or if my desires compelled me to cheat on my spouse or engage in sex with a minor or something serious like that. Since I don’t have any of those problems I wouldn’t at this time. I’ve found that periodic abstainance is doing good for my marriage.

Once every nine months is about right. Mind you, only once. No making excuses about repetition being good for success.
