If you are a Christian, what is the real reason for you not being a Catholic? - 2

I do not see in scripture where an “alter call” is important or necessary. I do not see in scripture where the use of electric guitars, pianos etc and using repetitive songs to make us “feel” the Holy Spirit is necessary.

If you are not fearful of committing the wrong sin, then you have not read scripture, starting with 1 john 5:16 and the following. Not to mention romans 11 and john 15 where we see that disobedience can cut us off from christ, the True Vine and that we only are regrafted through obedience. else we are withered and burned.
Did I say anything about an altar call or electric guitars? That is your perception of Protestants, and it is a ridiculous one at that. I do not live in fear of anything. I answered a question and said I did not need stock answers or any sort of trying to prove me wrong said to me in a reply. It was simply an answer. If you think I am worng and heretical, too bad. It does not sway me one way or the other.

Why would you assume anyone would have a reason?

Most people are who they are because they were spoonfed a lot of propaganda by their parents. Had I not been born a Mormon, I wouldn’t be in any way interested in it as an adult. Knowing what I know about the LDS church, I wouldn’t let the Mormon missionaries on my property, most likely.

When the Roman Empire adopted Christianity, it went down the tubes almost immediately. What remained of it moved to Constantinople and did fine…until they adopted Christianity later, and then those poor suckers went down the tubes too.

What does Catholicism do today? I see a lot of sexism, homophobia, pedophilia committed by priests and nuns on a worldwide scale, involvement in the holocaust, et cetera.

The Catholic Church has retarded the progress of the world and reduces every society it takes hold of to third-world status almost immediately. Every time there’s a reform movement that helps Catholics (Luther, Liberation Theology) it’s put down immediately from the top. Had it not been for the Holy See, humanity probably woulda touched down on the moon around 1200 CE and split the atom shortly afterward.

So, maybe you should ask yourself why anyone would become a Catholic? It’d be like joining the Scientologists or Snake Handlers. No thanks to the offer of more insanity. I’ve had my fill already.
Hello LaMar,

I see many personal opinions here and not a single fact, Bible verse or reference to any expert opinion or document, historical or otherwise that supports your position here. Should all one billion Catholics worldwide abandon their beliefs today to follow you, based on this post? Are you infallible?

This is nothing more than another example of baseless and unsupported Catholic bashing that has absolutely no relevance, what-so-ever to the Christian Truths found in Catholicism and it doesn’t answer the question posed here.

Please provide your sources.

Hi,
Please provide your sources.
Uhh, yeah. Apparently you forgot the question you asked. It went something like: “what is the real reason for you not being a Catholic?”

Of course these are my own opinions, Jimmy. That’s what you asked for.

All the same, here are some sources that suggests my opinion might have a bit of merit:

google.com/search?q=pedophilia+sisters+of+mercy&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a
google.com/search?q=pedophilia+boston+diocese&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a
google.com/search?q=croatia+catholic+atrocities&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a
google.com/search?q=pope+hitler+youth&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

Hundreds upon hundreds of sites await you, detailing the utter disaster which the Roman Catholic Church has brought to the world. Enjoy! And when you’re done reading, maybe you should answer my question: namely “Why on earth would any sane person want to be involved with such a lousy organization?”

Best,

LaMar

Hi flameburns623,

I will not dissect or disassemble your entire exegesis here. Although, if I had more time I would like to. 😃

I do though, want to point out that your comments here ignore Early Christian and Protestant Christian history and your beliefs here are in error.

Those who are observant or “practicing” Catholics are not “one-man” Ecumenical Counsels; self appointed Popes or the Magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church.

Your comments ignore a specific process and wrongly assume that every Catholic or non-Catholic Christian has the “authority” to change specific beliefs, doctrine or dogma that they disagree with and they do not.

Additionally, your comments here do not apply to any official “church" doctrine or dogma of any named “religion” that I am aware of.

Every denomination has a "list of” non-negotiable or “Infallible” beliefs. This is the reason that they broke from another denomination in the first place. It is because they disagreed with the prior ‘religion” on doctrine or dogma. If this were not true, there would be one Christian religion today and there is not.

Please provide the source for your comments here.

Moreover, different Catholic Orders do not represent a “split” from the Roman Catholic Church.

It is true that some Catholics act and/or speak “outside” the Church and when they do; their actions place them, outside the Church. I hope this helps.

God Bless You.
Jimmy:

I answered the question in your OP. I explained to you why I am not Roman Catholic. That pretty much fulfills the point of this thread for me.

By the way: a person who merely holds opinions which disagree with the current pope or ruling magisterium , on a matter that has not been infallibly defined, is NOT outside the Church. They must have serious reasons for holding such opinions. They may not teach such opinions as Catholic dogma, and they may not act in a sinful manner based upon their opinions. And they must be prepared to submit their opinions to any future infallible decision of the Church. So long as those conditions prevail, one can dissent from the teaching of the RCC privately without being ‘outside the Church’ .

Most of those links are inflamatory and none establish that the RCC as a Chrch is a ‘lousy organization’. The actions of a few do not reflect on the whole, particularly when the actions of those few are in direct opposition to what the RCC actually stands for and teaches.

Hello LaMar,

Here let me rephrase this;

Your reasons for not being Catholic…

I see (still) that your comments “for not being Catholic” consist of many personal opinions here and not a single reliable fact, Bible verse or reliable reference to any reliable expert opinion or reliable document, historical or otherwise that supports your un-reliable position or reason here for “not being Catholic”. Should all one billion Catholics worldwide abandon their beliefs today to follow you, based on this un-reliable post? Are you reliable "or “Infallible”?

This is nothing more than another example of baseless and unsupported Catholic bashing that has absolutely no relevance, what-so-ever to the Christian Truths found in Catholicism and it doesn’t answer the question posed here.

Please provide your reliable sources. There are some internet sites which claim that aliens have abducted people…should I believe those sites as well, if you post them here? There is a lot of crazy “stuff” on the internet.

Thanks! 👍

Amusing to note that you don’t dare posit a response to my question. 👍

I posted google searches which led to peer reviewed journal articles. I suppose if you think this is unreliable, there’s not much to talk about. Keep following your priest, and don’t visit any “unapproved” sites on the internet.

Take Care,

LaMar

Actually, I saw nothing in your links that led to a peer reviewed journal.

Take Care,
My priest doesn’t have a list of approved sites to visit on the internet. If you have evidence that some priest is prohibiting parishioners from visiting certain websites, please feel free to provide it.

Just FYI for all who may not know ~ it is against the rules of this forum to post links to Anti-Catholic sites.

Yep, right here but then again, I’ve been know to bend a CAF rule or two, so I’m glad that the Moderators here… are “moderate” in enforcing the rules. I don’t want to go to CAF jail…😃

I’ll be good… I’ll be good… I’ll be good… I’ll be good…:bounce:

I like the CAF Moderators :hug3:

Now back to the question posed here -

Sorry LaMar, I don’t go to crazy, anti-Catholic web sites.

Peace

I am not Catholic because Truth must have existed always, or it is not Truth. Therefore God is in all religions, and none of them.

And besides, I would never join any organization that sows so much anger and discord between human beings. Go back over your posts after your anger dies down and ask yourself what appeal that would possibly have to another person.

Hi Mike,

What? Who are you writing to? Your profile indicates that you are Catholic, are you? what does this mean (below)?

Hi Jimmy,

I wasn’t writing to anyone in particular, and as far as my profile goes, I haven’t posted in some time, but at the time I felt a need to declare myself Catholic because my posts were being dismissed outright for no reason. When I put Catholic as my religion, I gained some credibility. 🤷

You can call me Catholic or anything else you want. It’s all good. 🙂

Peace,
Mike

Sorry, I didn’t answer your other question. I meant just what I wrote, that Truth just is, and what is True must have always been True, so God is accessible to everyone and anyone.

Peace,
Mike
