Please, please, take a moment to reconsider.

I read somewhere that over 90% of women that get an abortion later regret the decision. And you know what, all of them thought that it was the “right” decision at the time.

So basically, if you have an abortion, you will regret it.

And why do so many women regret their decision later? I’m speculating, but it’s my belief that they suffer (for the rest of their life) with feelings of regret because deep down inside they know that they made the wrong choice.

So what do you do?

Well, when I was growing up and faced with a tough challenge, my Dad would always tell me the same thing. He’d say, “You can either do what’s easy. Or do what’s right.”

I found that personally, my “easy” actions led to more trouble, whereas doing what was right always led me in the best direction ultimately).

You’re preaching to the choir around here. No one on this forum is going to argue wtih you. You should reach out to teenage girls who are facing that and help them make the right choice.

This might be spam. I mean really – who comes to a Catholic Family Life forum and starts giving pro-life rhetoric?

A protestant who doesn’t know what we really believe, perhaps? I don’t know, this whole post is confusing. :hypno:

Has anyone actually clicked on the link? Have a good firewall if you do! I am going to alert the admins. 👍

Now that I think of it: DONT GIVE THE SITE LINKED YOUR ADDRESS!!

I alerted admin.

I just tried to open the url by typing it in and… it doesn’t exist. So I don’t know what that link points to…

The link was mistyped. If you right click the link and select properties, you’ll see the real address. Put an “ing” on consider and you’ll have it.

I clicked and it worked – it’s a SPAM for an adoption network. It looks like a .org, but becomes something else when it refreshes - a dot.com. It looks “pro-life” but I am leery.

I can’t believe we got spammed for adoption.

I used telnet to connect to the page in case there was something there. It redirects to some shareasale.com site, which redirects to adoptionnetwork.com/birthmother-unplanned-pregnancy/abortion-landing-page.html, with a bunch of query string parameters, likely for tracking the referrer. I see nothing dangerous on the page though; just a form requesting name, email, etc. The site linked to is likely an affiliate though, which is why it has all the redirects, so I’m also assuming they will try to sell something.

This is kind of like someone going to a PETA board and posting “Don’t Wear Fur”!

Oh- okay - makes sense. I was thrown off, too, by the address because “consider abortion” actually sounds like a suggestion, whereas “considering abortion” is more of a question.

Didn’t we just have a member confess an abortion a few weeks ago?

Also not everyone on here is Catholic.

Oh and are there Protestants religions that support abortions? I have never heard of one.

I am not saying that this is the appropriate place for the op, but some of the comments posted afterward concerned me much more than an anti abortion thread.

Most non-Catholics hang out in the non-Catholic religions or Apologetics boards, not Family Life. To my knowledge, the vast majority of Family Life posters are indeed Catholic.

Um, try pretty much every other Christian denomination out there. I think the Southern Baptists still condemn abortion, but I’m not sure.

This thread would make much more sense in a different part of the forum, as the majority of posters in this one are Catholic. But really, the vast majority of posters on this board are *faithful *Catholics, so it really doesn’t make a lot of sense to post it here. I’m sure there are non-PETA members on PETA boards, but it still wouldn’t make much sense to post “Don’t wear fur!” on those boards in hopes of reaching the 5 members out of 500 who think wearing fur is okay.

Well I am not catholic. I was raised in an AOG church and later attended a non denominational church followed by a Baptist church. They all taught that abortion is wrong. I now only attend catholic church but I am not catholic. I was just basing my statement on my experience. I still don’t see what the big deal is of posting an anti abortion thread on here. It’s not like it was proabortion.

I take a little offense with this. I grew up Methodist and I will tell you that protestant religions don’t agree wiht abortion either. Why would you single protestants out? It could be a agnostic for all we know.

Yes, I suppose AOG are still against abortion, too.

It’s just that the nature of the OP was suspiciously spam-like. If the OP had said, “Hi, I’m new here, and I just wanted to share this great website that you could give to people who may be considering abortion” – that wouldn’t be so weird.
