If You Could Change Three Things About Society And Three Things About The Church, What Would They Be?

I’m pretty curious to hear the responses to this. I myself am not entirely sure.

Society:
No person goes hungry
No person is homeless
All persons have access to health care

Church:
More people attend
Confession utilized more often
People receive the Eucharist as often as they are in state to do so. (Which requires attending Mass of course)

Mary.

Society: End to abortion, poverty, homelessness.
Church: Be more outspoken on these issues, do more about them, work more on saving souls. When I say Church, I mean all the members, the whole Church.

If all Christians, prayed, fasted and said the Rosary enough, I believe abortion would become
illegal again. After all, we now realize that slavery is wrong. A whole country can change.

I don’t know about 3 specific things, but I would definitely approach the Church relationship to governments differently. What we are doing now isn’t working and in some cases hurts the Church.

I’d also like to see encyclicals about holistic sustainability and immersion theory, which should lead to a better understanding between the altar and the pews.

Okay… I would say more Tridentine Mass:D and Orthodoxy in Catholic schools and universities, and no more scandalous Cardinals/Bishops/Priests!

As for society, if God truly comes first, everything else will follow. We would need not to address specifics here. All our culture needs is God and everything else will fall into place.

I would say the same.🙂

This is what I would make things be. 😃

Society: No immoral/impure content in any music/movies/books/clothes. No abortion. Housing for the homeless.

Church: Politicians who claim to be Catholic actually following Catholic doctrine. Religious advertising (why not?). Finding ways to help people become more faithful, and sin less.

Society: an end to all this neo-gnostic nonsense; a bigger focus on subsidiarity; a re-education on what " human rights" actually are.

Church: mandatory religious education; patronage of sacred art at the parish level; Church architecture going back to traditional layouts (aka, no more church-in-the-rounds).

Society
**Marriage reform: **NO no-fault divorce, marrying one woman after impregnating another or playing house with the other person. Any individual doing these things should have all their wealth drained off and given to the children and aggrieved parties, except the bare minimum needed to keep them alive. Any person found guilty of any degree of sexual assault that resulted in a child would lose all rights to that child, all wealth given to the custodian of that child.

Judicial Reform: Nobody goes to jail for a crime that does not involve violence or harm to others. Sexual predators have to be housed in special prisons. When a prisoner is raped, the alleged rapist will be segregated from the entire population, and when found guilty, sent to a sexual predators prison. I have plans in my head on how to design them. When a prisoner is released after a crime under the influence, upon completing a rehab, his record will be unavailable to employers, but if caught under the influence, the record would be reinstated. Absolutely no capital punishment.

Economic Reform: Where would I start?

What would I change about the Church: Cardinal Marx, cardinal Kasper and the German Bishopric. Maybe declare Germany a missionary land.

Society: No more Relativism, More respect for the
Institutions of religion, Less emphasis on Self-
glorification.

Church: Recognize the need for the Poor in our
parishes, Pride in our Catholic Magisterium,
MORE LOVE among the members of the Church.

Antegin, I like your proposal on society, but I was laughing when you mentioned the Cardinal Marx, Cardinal Kasper and the German Bishopric. Maybe declare Germany a missionary land. Man, this is funny, but scary. I watched Cardinal Kasper on EWTN and I was confused and very nervous with his theological assessment on allowing divorced catholics to receive Holy Communion.
The German Bishops think they run the Curia instead of the Pope. Let us pray and hope that the October synod does not divide the Church. On the other hand, maybe declare Germany a missionary land. lol

Shalom!

divorce people who are not living in a state of sin…can receive Holy communion (they may be divorce not because of their own will)

not all divorce people choose to cohabitate or enter in other relationships while still married in the Church

Antigen for President!:okpeople:

Church
Less political style approach to running the faith. (Go back to being shepherds instead of politicians)
Make addressing pedophilia in the clergy and in families the highest priority (and the process should have unlimited transparency regarding clergy).

More emphasis on diversity in the Church.

Society
The elderly should be placed on a pedestals instead of the rich, young and beautiful

The news should emphasis the good people do instead of the bad (if you want to end of up on the front page of the NY Times do something exceptionally nice instead of exceptionally naughty)

Less emphasis on technology and medication more emphasis on nature and proper nutrition
