If you could choose one hymnal for your (Ordinary Form vernacular but Latin-friendly) parish…
Which would it be? Why?
Which would you avoid? Why?

Adoremus. Absolutely no question about it.If you could choose one hymnal for your (Ordinary Form vernacular but Latin-friendly) parish…

Step 1: Make the piano disappear.Adoremus, or the old Worship that is now out of print, however while I am wishing I will wish for a music ministry that can make proper use of these resources.
we have no piano. try shoddy electric organ, electronic keyboard and assorted string instruments of the folk rather than classical variety. no drums, praise heaven.Step 1: Make the piano disappear.
Used pipe organs can be purchased from places like the Pipe Organ Clearing House for a fraction of the price of a new one. If your building’s physical dimensions or your parish’s finances won’t allow that, you can often find fairly decent electronic church organs (not home organs) at low prices from organ dealers who have received them as trade-ins for newer organs.we have no piano. try shoddy electric organ, electronic keyboard and assorted string instruments of the folk rather than classical variety. no drums, praise heaven.
we do songsheets. since flooding from hurricane a couple of years ago destroyed both Gather and Flor y Canto (yes!) we have had no hymnals, and those had been donated in the first place, used, from another parish. need an exorcism for our musical program, instruments and sound system. the point is there is no point expending money on an organ when there is no one who can play it, and no one who can cantor and sing at the same tempo in the same key as the organist.Used pipe organs can be purchased from places like the Pipe Organ Clearing House for a fraction of the price of a new one. Keyboards can be blessed into silence with enough holy water…
String instruments? You’ll need to get ashes for Lent from somewhere.![]()
Does Flor y Canto float?
