If you could move your family anywhere, where would you live and why?

Charleston, SC or Portsmouth, NH. I love small historical cities and the East Coast. Right now I’m in an expensive, densely populated, urban sprawl-filled area and can’t stand it.

Honorable mention to the Adirondacks and places near Amish and/or Mennonite communities.

Although I’ve never been New Hampshire really seems like an attractive place to live to me. It scores extra points because it has so little ethnic diversity, all four seasons, and beautiful mountains.

I thought the heat would be unbearable. Compared to the awful humidity the heat was nothing! And the beauty of the landscape and the style of the buildings were so nice. I’ve seen many areas of the country, just travelling, and it’s true, every area has its own unique beauty.
 
Outside the US or EU. Somewhere with less regulation but still no roving bands ravaging the countryside. Somewhere you don’t get kidnapped and have to sell everything to pay the ransom but you’re still relatively free from the government’s heavy hand.
 
Chevalier, that sounds like Eastport, Maine! It’s such a tiny community and appears to be a lovely small town.
