If you could only have a few Catholic books (I’m assuming this includes the Bible and Catechism), what would they be?

For me, in no particular order:

Sinner’s Guide
Spiritual Combat
The Imitation of Christ
The works of St. Josemaria Escriva (I’m counting these as one because the books are fairly short)
The works of St. Thérèse of Lisieux (Story of a Soul/Counsels and Reminiscences, which I have in one volume)
A Textual Concordance of the Holy Scriptures

Undoubtedly, this list will change as I grow in faith, but this is what it is at this point. What about you?

Besides the Bible and the Catechism, these would have to be among them:

True Devotion to Mary
My two books with the Papal Encyclicals/dcouments about Mary, including “Papal Documens on Mary” (Doheny and KellY)
The Revelation of Divine Love in 16 Showings by Dame Julian of Norwich
The Glories of Mary

I just bought the Spiritual Combat book; it’s actually on its way at the moment! 🙂 I was considering buying The Sinner’s Guide as well.

The Douay Bible & Catechism
a GOOD Catholic Encyclopedia
Father John A. Hardon’s Catholic Dictionary
Bishop Sheen Life of Christ
Aquinas : The Summa
Sinners Guide
Holy Communion by Peter Julian Eymard
Haydock’s Concordance

I love the purgatory book!
My copy is fallen apart in several places and all marked up in pen

A good Bible - if only one, I’d likely choose the NABRE
Collected Works of Fulton Sheen
Collected Works of Frank Sheed
Collected Works of Peter Kreeft
