If you had an abortion BEFORE you became pro life and did not believe a baby was a baby at conception, but you now believe it do you need to confess it as a mortal sin. Example; a young teenage woman who was a baptized protestant, but not raised christian, and was not taught that abortion is murder, and was not a practicing Christian has an abortion, and many years later comes to the knowledge that it is indeed murder. If she is now a catholic does she need to confess the abortion as a mortal sin?

Yes, it should be confessed. While God might not judge a individual culpable of grave sin, the issue at hand is still objectively grave matter. We should always want to apologize and ask forgiveness once we realize we’ve done something wrong. In everyday life when we realize that we’ve unintentionally hurt someone we usually apologize, even more so when we’re dealing with such a weighty matter and our relationship with God.
