I was so confused after I read everyone else’s confusion (I initial understood the first poster’s question) that I voted and forgot to check anything. After I corrected it, I did actual vote. Thank’s for the nice, light-hearted thread, even if it didn’t start that way.
 
I wonder… how many faithful Cathoics would actually place heaven instead of purgatory!
 
I pray by Christ’s Merciful Passion and Death to be saved from Hell and I trust in Jesus to that end. I probably have some stuff to clear up in Purgatory.

Pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet for the world. Pray that all souls will be lead to Heaven, as Our Sweet Mother asked of us at Fatima.

No, not true! 😃 If you have already been properly baptized as the Church requires, you need have no fear on that account. If you haven’t been baptized, the Church recognizes your desire to be baptized which is called “baptism of desire” and would count as a true baptism in God’s eyes.

Thank you for the words of reassurance! I was baptised when I was a child in a Methodist Church.

I couldn’t even answer this poll… this smacks of the sin of presumption should I answer “heaven” or “purgatory”… such a protestant question!

Well I answered purgatory I went to Mass today I have no mortal sins but I have had a few uncharitable thoughts:nope:

Your quite welcome! 🙂 I encourage you to ask your priest about such concerns–he should have the correct answers for you. Your RCIA lay leaders may too, but I wouldn’t count on it. Most of them haven’t made a study of anything except what is found in the materials they are teaching you from, sad to say. Also, read the Catechism for answers. It’s fully indexed. You can’t go wrong with the Catechism.
 
I assume the questions mean:

Would I go directly to: heaven, purgatory, hell?
Is that correct?

If I died today I believe I would go to be with my Lord. for in him alone do I trust. If there would be any remaining sin in my consciousness at death, God would purify me as I pass through the holy light. This world is so pathetic and sinful, who would not want to be with Christ and all his saints? This world has terrorism everyday. Innocent people dying because of these wicked, insane people. Our young men and women dying in Iraq. Millions facing starvation in Ethiopia. Sex and violence pervades television and the movies. I long to be in another world where all men, women and children will be loved and cared for and God’s love will prevail. That is my desire and nothing else.
