If you do , how do you picture your Guardian Angel?

Your thoughts are precisely why we have a Catechism.

Oral Tradition predates written Scripture, and the Catholic Church was the editor of what books were included in the canon.

Jesus started exactly one Church, and he didn’t write a single word of Sacred Scripture.

The collection, editing, determination of the included books, and the passing on of those teachings came from the Catholic Church.

Your opinions about a specific pericope doesn’t supersede the teaching authority of the Church that Jesus started.

Perhaps the Catechism is a tool that could be of great use to you in understanding the relationship between Sacred Tradition and Sacred Scripture.

Both of them brought to you, free of charge, by the One, Holy, Catholic Church. 😄

God bless,
Deacon Christopher

Also the angel Raphael speaking here: ‘All these days I merely appeared to you and did not eat or drink, but you were seeing a vision.’ Tobit 12:19

I do not think ACrosSticks would be persuaded, as I am guessing Tobit in not in their Bible.

I picture mine as being sort of stressed out and drinking a lot of coffee.

Sometimes calm and in the background.

Sometimes fierce and powerful.

That´s nice, I had some little glittery depictions on thick paper, in german we said “Liebesmarken” (Marken like “stamps”) and one of them was like your picture.
I thought about buying a guardian angel icon again after I saw some nice little ones at my church, I wasn´t familiar with the iconography.

Finally found them back online 😍

Maybe like the late Sam Kinison’s portrayal of Al Bundy’s guardian angel?

I usually like a lot of the Victorian aesthetics but I draw the line at their depiction of angels.

I also don’t like their depiction of fairies/elves as twee little people. The Sidhe were anything but dainty.

At the foot of my bed was an angel. Dressed in a brown cassock with a blue sash from the right hip to the left shoulder. Brown hair, long enough to be female and short enough to be male. Brown eyes never blinking. Staring with a sense of urgency. Kicked my bed! I woke up with my bed shaking and urgently said a rosary.

God knows it’s true.

Peace

no need to need to need to “picture” your “guardian angel”

I’ll be very disappointed if mine doesn’t look like one of the androgynes with the Fifties haircuts and weird parrot wings from the TAN Treasure Box books.

According to Fr. Chad Ripperger, we have more than one. 🙂

So I picture mine as the Spartans when they do the round formation, with me in the middle. All stressed, all protective, some probably bloody from all them demon slaying and absolutely all of them frustrated with my clumsiness. 🤣 Sorry guys!

I don’t believe that guardian angels protect from physical mishaps. I think they are purely for spiritual protection.

I think that they could take any shape that they wanted. I imagine them more as a glow around each person. An aura as such.

With seagull wings !

I watched a story yesterday - on the Miraculous medal -
and the nun awoke - and a young boy angel - guided her to a room -
and told her - " we need to see with our heart …" and other things.
The the Virgin Mary appeared to her.

The first person we see - when we die - our Guardian angel. No laughing matter.

Once I had my Angel show up as a red haired red bearded biker in leathers. He sat by me while I slept all night at a bus station and woke me when I was supposed to get on my next bus. I turned to get my luggage and then back to thank him but he was gone. Looked kind of like this.
True story.(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)
