1.If you had the blessed opportunity of Meeting the Holy Father, what would you say?

2.If You could spend 1 day with him in the Vatican what would you like to do/talk about?

This sounds like a minor thing, but I would (after, of course, paying him the respect he’s earned and thanking him for leading the Church, but I think that’s a given in this thread) suggest that the Vatican use its Youtube channel to provide tours of the many beautiful churches in Rome. After all, not everybody can afford to make a pilgrimage, and think of how wonderful a ministry tour it would be to give people a glimpse inside Rome’s wondrous sacred architecture!

After all, I’m not qualified to give him advice on the big stuff, so why not suggest a small thing that can do some good?

I would invite him to watch sports with me, and have a beer. 😃

Hey, just because he’s the Pope doesn’t mean he can’t enjoy life.

Probably not much at first, other than the necessary formalities. Perhaps later as we began to “warm up to each other” we’d talk history (I’m a bit of a history buff) I’d be interesed in his experiences as a young man during WW II.

First thing is I would love to receive communion from the successor of Peter.
Secondly I would hope that my Dear Wife could be with me and receive the Sacrament of the Sick from this Holy personage.
Other than that I think I’d just like to “follow him around” and see what a day is like for the Pontiff.

Peace
James

I don’t know what i’d do beyond squeal on the inside like the fangirl that I am XD

Just this: gulps

My mind will be busy suffering too many major guilt trips for anything coherent to leave my mouth. >_>;;;

Gee… I don’t know… ask him what how’d he’d run the Church if the world suddenly resembled like that of a fantasy RPG? >_>;;

I’d probably excuse myself… I get kinda clumsy when I meet famous people - at least I think I do ]:o

I’d ask important questions:

How long will it take me to become a Saint?
Do I really have to join a convent or get martyred to become a Saint?
Do Popes wear underwear under their robes?
Have you ever tried Saint Peters thing about walking on water? Did it work for you?
How many languages do Popes have to learn?
Do you have that good Italian Ice cream in the freezer. May I have some with you, please?
When do you get to open your Christmas Presents?
Do Popes dance and sing in the shower?
Do Popes get to watch movies? Ride Bikes? Skateboard?
Do Popes have to make their beds? Do Saints have to make their beds?
Do Popes have pets?
Can I have a ride in the Pope-mobile, please?

I’d actually request a mini-piano recital from him! 😃

  1. The first thing I would say to Pope Benedict XVI is, “May God bless you for freeing the Latin Mass. May He pour His grace upon you & hold you in palm of His hand while you are persecuted for the crimes of others, just as Christ was. May He prepare a golden mansion for you in heaven, for you have earned it while on this earth”.
  2. I would first attend his Mass & receive the Eucharist from him. I would spend the rest of the day honoring his request:
"Pray for me, that I may not flee for fear of the wolves.”

I think I’d be more like “CradleCatholic” but I would request that he appoint our new Archbishop and that he be a very Trad friendly Bishop.

Aside from that I’d probably be “tongue-tied”. The meeting wouldn’t last long but would be forever in my memory.

I would say “Thank you for being our Pope”, and spend all day in the garden helping him tend to the roses

I think I would ask him to pray for me, my family and those who are most in need of Christ’s mercy.

I would say hello, it is an honor to meet you (cry) kiss his ring and say thank you, God Bless You.

I would tell him what he already knows, the American Church is desperate for help. I would suggest asking Father John Corapi to be in charge of creating Bishop/Priest/Deacon mandatory retreats often throughtout the year. Each retreat would have a small concentrated group of priests that represent the true faith in its purety and every bit of “grey” would be annhilated through therapy and catechesis. There would also be follow ups and contact with each of the priests on a personal basis to keep a strong sense of community/unity.

I would tell him that Perpetual Adoration should be available and mandatory in every parish.

I’d like to talk with him about the Holocaust and ask him some questions. :bighanky:
I would also talk with him about the genocide that is going on in America, abortion.

I would like to see artifacts from history. Henry VIII’s letter for one.

I would ask him to hear my confession and go to mass where Saint Peter’s bones are barried.

I’d go to adoration and then spend the rest of the day and night walking around looking at all the art.

I’d learn some Italian. And have a real espresso/cappuccino. 😃 I’d probably start with that first.

Thanks! 🙂

1.- I would thank him for freeing up the TLM.

2.- I would ask his opinion on several things and see what it’s like at the Vatican.

I’d probably squeal like a little girl and do my happy dance. 😊 As for what we would talk about, I’d start off with discussing his Introduction to Christianity and his numerous other books. I’d also ask what he has planned for his next encylical. After that, I would have to have a serious talk about the catholic church and its situation in America, especially in regards to some of the politicians.

I would invite him to attend a 100% licit & valid OF Mass at the Cathedral in Los Angeles.

If I had to chance to talk to Pope Benedict, I would ask him if thought that Mozart was saved. I know this sounds ridiculous, but Mozart is my favorite composer, and the Holy Father’s too.

I don’t know if there is deeper meaning to that but I always wondered if members of the clergy enjoyed attending Mass outside of actually serving Mass. If I were in the their shoes I think I would enjoy attending an occasional Mass to recenter. I had the honor of receiving the oils at the Chrism Mass this year and was able to observe the Bishop of San Diego serve Mass for all of the priests of the diocese and laity alike.

  1. First thing-after getting over my initial nervousness 🙂 😊 ] I’d tell him that I am half-German on my mother’s side [he would probably ask me where 😃 ] Then I’d thank him for ‘freeing’ the TLM.
  2. Second thing-I would love to hear him play the piano, then take a walk with him in the Vatican Gardens and talk about things such as history, art and music.
