You are right. Now, the person may have been forgiven, that is God’s judgement. But, in my not so humble opinion, to receive communion is at best a very rude thing to do before such a good and merciful God. It certainly would not be an act of humility.This is incorrect. No absolution for mortal sins, no receiving communion. What you say is very bad counsel and could cost someone their soul.
