If your so sure that God exists then you’ll read all of my three blogs about religion because if he exists then how can someone prove that he doesn’t? You’ll know the way your enemy thinks and maybe it could change your life. What is there to be afraid of? Words? The truth? Its your choice. Christopher Hitchens said his book called “God Is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything” is flying off the shelves of bible belt book stores on a “know your enemy basis,” and Michael Novak from The National Review said that you guys need to take what Hitchens, Dawkins, Harris, and others like me say seriuosly * because you can’t keep running away from the arguements and expect everyone to always mindlessly follow you. Its time to have everything explained the way it should be.

Make sure you read them in order of course since they aren’t because I turned two blogs into three and you can’t change their order.*

i have it explained. by the One True Holy and Apostolic Church, the Catholic Church given to us by Christ Himself. NO further explanation is necessary. we ALL meet God the moment we die, so just because you don’t see Him with your physical eyes does NOT mean He isn’t there because He is friend. and when we die, we see Him. I see God through eyes of faith, and i know He is real and true. He never lies. there is NO untruth with God! none.

so when people say God does not exist, be careful of what you say because we are all judged when we die. you will see Him. so live a life holy and pleasing to God and you likely wont be judged unfavorably. if you deny God then well, that is between you and Him.

i wouldn’t want to be in anyones shoes that denies God. no thanks. i’d sooner believe and live my life pleasing to Him and to know He has infitinite mercy. even you can change. we all can! i will pray for you!

🤷 You can’t prove He doesn’t exist so why should I bother reading dribble?

*All the scientists had decided that God was useless, not needed anymore, and generally dead. They decided to prove it to God and to the world, so they chose to have a contest.

They came to God and said, “We have decided that humans don’t need you anymore. They only need science. To that end, we have come up with a test. If you win, you can stay. If you lose, you have to go away.”

God said, “Alright. What is the contest?”

The scientists said, “We can now make a man. All of our efforts have gone into scientifically creating a human being. We will make a man, and you can make a man, and the best man will win.”

God agreed. The scientists began by taking a handful of dirt out of the garden. God said, “Wait a minute. Get your own dirt.”* 😃

I heard Christopher Hitchens on Michael Medved a couple of weeks ago. He came off as pompous and arrogant. Any source that was not his own he you go into an ad hominem attack on. When Medved brought up that one of his sources could be found on a Nazi web site, I thought he was going to go nuclear. He did threaten to hang up, if I remember right.

[SIGN]STRAWMAN[/SIGN]

There is no need to run away. Catholic Answers is considered the elite of Catholic Apologetics. We get inundated by folks trying to test their mettle against Catholic teaching on an hourly basis. We just have to sit here and arguments against God, against the Saints, against Mary, just keeping on flowing in.

…because you can’t keep running away from the arguements and expect everyone to always mindlessly follow you…
I’m impressed so far. Perhaps you are the anointed one who will destroy Christianity once and for all. You’ve certainly gotten off to a good start.

People have been trying for hundreds if not thousands of years to prove that God doesn’t exist. Dawkins isn’t cleverer or more knowledgeable than their collective wisdom, and it has failed, so how on earth could he succeed?

If your so sure that God exists then you’ll read all of my three blogs…
If you’re so sure that I will read your blogs based on my certainty of God’s existence, then you must also believe God exists, because you are clearly expecting a miracle.

I began to read your screed, but I prefer to read atheists who have a grasp of the English language and those who can express a thought without resorting to profanity.
No, Hitchins and Dawkins don’t know enough about God or religion to address the issue. For a supposedly intelligent man, Dawkins comes off sounding like a ten year old and Hitchins is just angry at the world.
For some atheists who at least express cogent, if erroneous, ideas with some attempted logic, try men like Hume, Rousseau and Hobbes. While completely in error, they at least present arguments. Their problem is that they dealt exclusively in reason and eschewed faith. If you want someone a little more contemorary, try Bertrand Russell.
There are too many more to list here.
As for you, “Vette,” you are committing the classic error of conflating members of a religion with the religion itself.
Free advice is always worth the price, but you may want to calm down, grow up, study philosophy and religion, especially Catholicism, so you at least know that which you are attempting to refute.
Science cannot address God. I know; I’m a scientist.

If your so sure that God exists then you’ll read all of my three blogs about religion…
Frankly, Epicurus(341-270 BC), an ancient greek philospher, gave better arguments. But these arguments have been beaten up for the past 2000 years. Do you really think, that some of the great saints of the Catholic Church have never wrestled with the fundamental philisophy at play on the existence of God?

If your so sure of yourself, then perhaps you should study some of the counter arguments, to your belief.
Its time to have everything explained the way it should be.
.
Yup, that’s what this website is all about.
We try to s’plain things the way they are, ---- Truthfully —👍

I can tell by the little I read of part 1, by your “humans and chimps are 98% apart” section, that you really have no idea what Christians believe. That doesn’t prove there is no God. It’s good evidence of evolution, but there is a good discussion on that going on another part of the forum, where evolution is one of those things Catholics are free to believe.

If your so sure that God exists then you’ll read all of my three blogs about religion because if he exists then how can someone prove that he doesn’t?.
I am sure God exists.
God doesn’t need your Blogs to know he exists.

I don’t need to waste my time reading your nonsense to know he exists.

The fact that you can write at all is another proof that God exists.

Thanks for proving my point.

The fact that you can write at all is another proof that God exists.
Good point. The fact that he can make a silly post here, and that we can all observe that it’s a silly post, is indeed excellent proof of God’s existence. 🙂

Kinda hard to take something called “RIPKurtCobain” seriously, if you want the truth.

Sounds really…um…intellectually deficient.😉

As someone who is inclined to agree with your conclusions, I have to say that I found your reasoning (and writing style) deficient. There are perfectly good reasons not to believe, but your blog posts weren’t the nail in the coffin of theism.

If your so sure that God exists then you’ll read all of my three blogs about religion because if he exists then how can someone prove that he doesn’t?
Exactly. Therefore, reading your blog is a waste of my time.
You’ll know the way your enemy thinks and maybe it could change your life.
You assume people view you as an enemy. Invalid assumption.
What is there to be afraid of?
A rhetorical question that assumes there is something to fear. Invalid assumption.
Words? The truth?
I already have the truth, and it is not contained in your blog.
Its your choice.
Indeed, it is.
Michael Novak from The National Review said that you guys need to take what Hitchens, Dawkins, Harris, and others like me say seriuosly * *

He is entitled to his opinion.
Corvette864;2592555:
because you can’t keep running away from the arguements and expect everyone to always mindlessly follow you.
Two invalid assumptions: that those who believe in God are running away from arguments and that those who believe in God expect others to mindlessly follow them.
Its time to have everything explained the way it should be.
 Let me bow down before you, Master Yoda.

I don’t have time to wade through your whole blog. Here’re my thoughts on your first post. My comments are in bold.

How did God come into existence?
To quote the Baltimore Catechism: “God had no beginning; He always was and He always will be.”

Either he appeared out of nowhere
or he evolved?
Both assumptions, neither of which can be proven (or disproved) empirically. This is why Christians state specifically that this is what they believe, what we have faith in; we never said everything about God can be proven empirically and we don’t see the need to do so. You aught to look into our definition of a ‘mystery’.

What is God?
** The Baltimore Catechism: God is a spirit infinitely perfect. For the record, God does not have ‘magical powers’, and not all Christians believe He created the world in 6 days. We do believe that He watches over us and that He did create everything, just not necessarily in 6 days.**

If something could do this he would
have to be complicated beyond
belief or possibility.
Aha! You’ve discovered something that Christians have known for 2,000 years! We’re back to that ‘Mystery’ thing. Christians do not believe God can be fully comprehended or understood. Just what makes something “beyond belief”?

There is no way God appeared out
of nowhere…
We believe that there was never a time when He was not. We at least agree here, but I’m willing to bet it’s because of different origins of thought.

…which means he must
of evolved.
Nope. You’ve made a leap to this conclusion by limiting your outcomes to only two possibilities. You still haven’t proven that He couldn’t have always existed.

Now what sounds more
likely and more sane? God evolved
or humans and all living things evolved?
Neither. You’re claims are still flawed. You’re still limiting yourself to only two possibilities because of an out-of-hand dismissal of the existence of any others.

Yes humans are on the top of the food
chain, a lot of us are beautiful, talented,
have the most pronounced emotions
then any other species, only ones
that have sex for pleasure, and have
used our surroundings to better ourselves
then any other living thing and that
does make us great and have complex
brains but we don’t create planets and
millions of complex species in 6 days
and the only magic we do is tricks.
You’re right! We don’t! Glad to see you haven’t fallen into the errors of New Age philosophy. Humans are not God, and we’re glad you’ve come to this realization. (By the way, dolphins have sex for pleasure too).

There is no way God appeared
out of nowhere and how can a
thing that is so complex and
powerful as God evolve from
something else? The chances of
this are zero…
You’re getting there, you’ve almost made your own logical argument for God…

… which means the
chances that God exists is zero.
OH! So close! Again, flawed claims lead to flawed results.

The truth is that all the matter in
the universe came from the explosion
called the big bang [you can say it
appeared out of nowhere but its
simply non-living objects], the ancestor
to all living things was the first single
celled organism, and humans started
to evolve from chimps 6.5 million
years ago
Yeah, maybe. I don’t care how He did it, but none of what you’ve said so far is contrary to Scripture, Tradition, or the Teachings of the Church. (And humans and chimps evolved from a common ancestor. Humans didn’t evolve from chimps, you’re getting loose in your ‘facts’).

and this also proves that
God does not exist.
How?

Which makes sense and which doesn’t?
You’re setting up a false distinction. Both! Evolution dose not rule out the role of Our Creator, and the fact that we have a Creator doesn’t mean we didn’t evolve under His guidance.

Which sounds sane and which doesn’t?
At the risk of being uncharitable, I’ll refrain from making comments about sanity.

Which is based on science and which is based
on guessing?
Neither really. It sounds as if you’ve pulled together the atheist party line without providing any proof, taking for advantage that many people will agree with you, and those who don’t are either brainwashed or just sheep. There are things science can’t prove or explain. Frankly, I don’t think you care about finding the truth anyway. It sounds like you just want to start an argument. You also need to actually study what Christians believe instead of shooting down things we don’t even believe in (this is called a straw-man argument). There are different forms of Christianity, so if you’re setting up to be the ‘savior’ of the world from the evils of religion, you’re first going to have to learn what we actually believe. If you do decide to take on The Catholic Church be warned, many have tried, and 2,000 years later, guess who’s still going?

How can anyone prove a negative? Does the physical absence of anything prove that that thing does not exist? The absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence. The burden of proof lies in the one who makes the positive allegation. The Atheists do not have to philosophically or scientifically prove that God does not exist since doing so would entail them to make “non- sequiturs.” The burden is on the one who alleges that God exists, and I believe we have a cornucopia of these demonstrations of God’s non-self-evident existence from the prism of human reason (philosophy) from Aristotle to Mortimer Adler.

Sorry to reminisce, but I remember when I thought I could solve the problems that mankind has been wrestling with for ages with an internet rant. Ah, those were the days…
