Is Ignatian spirituality difficult for people who dont think in images but rather ideas?
And is it difficult for those who have difficulties with theory of mind?
Sounds like some people with aspergers can have a difficulties woth this spirituality.
What are your experiences?

I tend to be pretty intellectual, and I have been working on using the 14 rules of discernment. I find them extremely helpful even tho I am still doing them haphazardly.

Hopefully someone else who has more experience will be able to say more 🙂

No it is absolutely not difficult for people with aphantasia to contemplate in the Ignatian way! I am one of those people. The most important aspect of Ignatian spirituality is to ‘experience’. Not necessarily to literally ‘see’. People on the spectrum normally have a heightened sensitivity in other ways that are just as valuable as having sharp images to work with.

I thought that you were to see yourself at eg the manger.
So it is not that important to see in your inner life Jesus lying in the manger?
