They don’t have a single volume study bible though, do they?

I understand that their commentary is more devotional than explanatory, and heavily influenced by the doctrines of Opus Dei.
No I would not call it “more devotional”. Rather yes living a Christian life is certainly part of its focus…though perhaps more so in the New Testament commentaries than the Old.

Is it heavily influenced by the doctrines of Opus Dei? - you mean the doctrines of the Catholic Church that Opus Dei highlights as well as the writings of the Founder? Yes of course - for it is from the University founded by the Founder of Opus Dei - St. Josemaria Escriva. But that is part of it. Not the whole (as good as that is).

"The Navarre Bible includes extensive Catholic commentary compiled by the faculty of the University of Navarre.

The commentaries draw on a huge variety of sources: Church documents, the writings of the Fathers and Doctors of the Church, and the work of prominent spiritual writers. Scholarly yet readable, the Navarre Bible commentaries offer a comprehensive intellectual, historical, and spiritual survey of the riches of Scripture."

As to a single volume OT - no that would be HUGE.

Tis in 7

I’ve been holding off of the Ignatius Study Bible New Testamemt until the OT is complete, so I’m not sure I’ll ever own it.

I am with those who sorely wish the Ignatius Study Bible would finish up the OT and come out with a single volume Study Bible. 🙂
In my opinion the Navarre is more scholarly than the ignatius bible. But I don’t think that it’s makes it better. The ignatius has illustrations along with its short but excellent commentary.
One of the cool illustrations in the ignatius was of the tent of meeting in exodus. The picture literally shows you about 3 chapters worth of detail in the Bible.

The Navarre tends to sometimes have commentary that is so long that it interferes with your bible reading if that makes sense… regardless both are excellent, and I would suggest people pick up a Navarre bible or 2 if they are waiting for the full ignatius study bible.
