Does anyone have a clue, when Ignatius will come out with a study bible RSV for OT and NT?
A whole bible?:confused:

I don’t think there will ever be a single volume Bible. Given the amount of commentary, that would not be realistic. However, the single volume OT is supposed to be out sometime not too long from now. A year and a half ago I was quoted 1 year from someone at the St. Paul Center for Biblical Theology where Mitch and Hahn are. Obviously that was not correct, but hopefully it will not be too much longer.

I hope so! But so far I’ve only seen Genesis and Exodus study guides, have they come out with any more? If not we still have 44 more to go!😃

If You like the RSV OT very much and don’t have patience to wait for the RSV-2CE OT, there is an OT for You, see this particular post and follow the link: christianforums.com/t7641923-post61566154/#post61566154
… and use separate commentaries.

If You want to correct the old RSV NT with the latest manuscript finds (the United Bible Societies Greek New Testament), You can buy the 2009 Comprehensive New Testament, look it up on Amazon.co.uk or .com.

Besides the Knox bible, is there any other great or good catholic study bibles, with the
catholic OT?:confused: Until the Ignatius Study bibles come out with a OT in 2014?

The Navarre series is excellent. I linked it above. In addition, the Haydock commentaries are excellent as well.
 
Not a study Bible, but for the Deuterocanonicals I use only the 1989 Revised English Bible.
You can get a copy that has only the Deuterocanonicals printed separately so it’s not the whole Bible, search REB Apocrypha on Amazon…

The translation of the Deuterocanonicals is said to be very good. Note also that one of the translators was among the world’s absolutely most fluent in Biblical Greek: G. B. Caird.

For a good commentary on the Deuterocanonicals, I use the end-of-2011 Oxford Encyclopedia of the Books of the Bible. It’s a bit expensive. Here’s a thread where You can discuss it, feel free to bump it any time in the future: christianforums.com/t7671654/

Nicely doen, mccorm, and very informative. I can’t wait for the completed OT to come out, as I’ve already downloaded Kindle versions of Genesis and Exodus.

That being said, I wish there was a Christian/Catholic alternative to Kindle, which is owned by Amazon, whose founder Jeff Bezos strongly supports gay “marriage.” Oh, well…🤷
