As far as I’m aware, there is no differentiation between the substances themselves – which is as it should be. Alcohol is a drug. So are nicotine and caffeine. This is actually why Mormons and some other groups forbid their members to partake in such vices as liquor, cigarettes, and Coca-Cola.I don’t. But point taken. I am sure the Church has some sort of explanation for differentiating between drugs and alcohol, though I don’t know what it is. I’ll be the first to admit that any discussion about the Church’s opinion on this matter is speculation from me.
