Sounds like a cover up to me. Why would 8 Hispanic men attend public school anyway? Is the European attending public school also?
The post is rather clear there are Hispanics who"live in public housing". The " *Police Blotter in our local paper" *report on them and "Our school board complains all the time that the illegals are a burden on the system and they are not paying their way". So that only lives a couple of combinations 1) these 8 are a “burden” to the public school system or 2) Or the other 3 are the “burden” on school.I didn’t read anything about 8 Hispanic men attending public school.![]()
In Illinois public housing is not free and they tend to check on the number of people living in the unit more than a slum land lord does. Also public housing has a waiting list in our area and the units go to families first. I suspect these men find it cheaper and easier to share a house than to try to get into public housing. The post is rather clear there are Hispanics who"live in public housing". BTW if they can have free housing why would 8 share a house?
You do realize we live in Illinois where we have an illegal, who was to be deported, holed up in a store front church for a couple of months and no one is doing anything about it. The Chicago city council is considering declaring the whole city a ‘free zone’ where the cops will do nothing to enforce our immigration laws. In some ways I think our state surpasses California in being liberal about welcoming illegals, not only from Hispanic countries but also eastern Europe.he works with illegals and he wont turn them in? My dh works in the food industry once a perosn is hired and all paper work submitted they check all paper work etc. to make sure that these people are legal to work in the USA…do you know how many people loose their jobs because their papers aer checked and are BOGUS!!!
it sounds like your son by his inaction is part of the problem.
Is it possible they are not Illegal’s?My son and I did notify the local police about the illegals at his job. They said they would notify INS, nothing has happened in over 4 months.
so 3 people with one child each is capable of breaking the schools? No the men don’t attend public school but of the 3 my son works with their kids do.
If these 8-11 immigrants buy property is there more property? or would there be different owners of the same property?I don’t know how many they have. Also even if the 7 or 8 men have no kids in school you still have to pay property tax to support the schools. I have not had any kids in school for 8 years and I still have to pay to support the school system. My brother in law sent all his kids to Catholic schools and he still had to pay to support the public schools. There is a lady in her 60’s who lives a block away from me, she is single with no kids and she has had to pay to support the public school system since she owned a house. So what is your point about these people not attending our schools?
Are you saying immigrants are living under harsh conditions? Since the people you sight are working why is your public housing helping them, are your public housing authorities violating the law by providing housing to specific types of workersIn Illinois public housing is not free and they tend to check on the number of people living in the unit more than a slum land lord does. Would it be easier just to create a guest worker status thus allowing the immigrant to be legal workers? You do realize we live in Illinois where we have an illegal, who was to be deported, holed up in a store front church for a couple of months and no one is doing anything about it. Please contact Sheriff Harry Lee he needs your help because he is apparently chasing the wrong people See article boston.com/news/nation/articles/2006/08/15/murders_soar_in_new_orleans_suburb/I don’t know anything about Illinois, but I can attest to the fact that illegal aliens tend to live together when they come to this country. Until very recently, I lived in Metairie, LA. Before Katrina, Metairie was a relatively nice place to live. It was close to the city but away from a large part of the crime that inevitably comes with a tourist/port town. After Katrina, rather than give the rebuilding jobs to locals as promised, many of the people in charge of rebuilding (not local government) gave the jobs to immigrants–many of them illegal. Crime skyrocketed and with many reports it seemed inevitable to read that the perpetrator was an illegal alien living in a hotel or private home with a higher concentration of people expected for the number of bedrooms. In addition, the perpetrators were hard to track because the people who resided in these hotels and homes moved in and out rather frequently. When three murders were committed within 2 miles of me over a span of a few months, I decided it was time to move out. Two of those three murders were committed by people imported to take the rebuilding jobs; I don’t remember about the third.
On the other hand, many years ago I knew a family of 8 or 10 people who lived in a small home when they legally came to this country. They spent their money to open a restaurant, which virtually every family member worked in. Over time they purchased a home that gave them more breathing room and reflected their success in their new country.
It’s tough to know who is here and in what status just by population density alone. But if people continue to live in the same situation regardless of how much they work, or if there is a high turnover of residents in the home, it seems like a good clue that something fishy is going on.
Vacant land pays less tax than developed land. If they lived in housing that was up to standard they would be paying more taxes. Pehaps you should spend a little time in remedial reading. Where did I state they had only one child each? I thought I clearly stated I did not know how many kids they had.Is it possible they are not Illegal’s? so 3 people with one child each is capable of breaking the schools? Yes, many of them do. You obviously don’t know anything about Illinois public housing. Most of the people who live there have jobs. They are just low income or they have such large families that their income qualifies them, for example a postal worker making $40K per year with 9 kids and a spouse who does not work would qualify for public housing. Are you saying immigrants are living under harsh conditions? Since the people you sight are working why is your public housing helping them, are your public housing authorities violating the law by providing housing to specific types of workers
I have no problem at all with this as long as they go back to their country of origin and apply to come here legally. As a matter of fact I would support a guest worker program that did that 100%.Would it be easier just to create a guest worker status thus allowing the immigrant to be legal workers?
Really are you saying they have to build their own housing? or are you saying they increase demand on housing creating a market for new housing —whoops -that is what is happening which you are unhappy withVacant land pays less tax than developed land. If they lived in housing that was up to standard they would be paying more taxes.
In remedial reading they teach that to have children would require a count above zero but let me find a quote from you - “but of the 3 my son works with their kids do”- now see you wrote “their” so if there is one or two children they could not actually be “their” because one of the 3 workers would be excluded. Now 3 children of which one is assigned to each adult qualifies. If the number is larger than 3 many combinations exist but you say you do not know the number. But you say it burdens the school. So an unspecified number 3 or greater is burdening the school. If 3 is minimum number needed it still sounds like the school is not capable of handling 3 students. If numbers above 3 are not worth documenting why would they be relevant here.Perhaps you should spend a little time in remedial reading. Where did I state they had only one child each? I thought I clearly stated I did not know how many kids they had.
excellent so do you want to go on the record as saying Postal Workers burden northern Illinois?Yes, many of them do. You obviously don’t know anything about Illinois public housing. No wise acre I am saying you don’t know Jack about the Illinois public housing system and that not all residents are necessarily low income. Don’t twist my words. I don’t know anything about the public housing system in Texas, thank God, and you obviously don’t know anything about it in Illinois. You are just looking for an argument so, “good day sir!”Code:excellent so do you want to go on the record as saying Postal Workers burden northern Illinois?

Yep, that was 20 posts ago and still nothing more than unverifiable “personal experiences” offered as ‘proof’. And, all of it goes against the “Big Picture” that the “Illegal” are a net benefit to this country. Thanks I guess
I did not bring up the public housing in Illinois. I explored it as it related to immigration, because some one else brought it up. It is very common to see accusations fly but if questioned these accusations typically fade away or turn into personal attacks. So it seams the problems in Illinois are not from immigrants, yet if you watch, again you will hear the “housing” accusations
Some benefit, suing a company for following the law. Where is your proof that illegals are a big benefit to the country? Your link talks about immigration not illegal immigration,Yep, that was 20 posts ago and still nothing more than unverifiable “personal experiences” offered as ‘proof’. Oh!! So NOW you want to consider the topic? HmmmmmSome benefit, suing a company for following the law. Where is your proof that illegals are a big benefit to the country?
You have no proof, it is just what you think. I admit that the opinion of mine 20 or so posts ago is just my opinion. I should have made that clear and it is my error for not doing so. I grant that you are entitled to your opinion, will you grant me the same? Will you also admit that the " And, all of it goes against the “Big Picture” that the “Illegal” are a net benefit to this country." is just your opinion or show proof with out your snide comments? Also show how it is a benefit to have illegals suing American companies for following the law.Oh!! So NOW you want to consider the topic? Hmmmmm

It happens to be true. I provided one by the 500 economists. There are more.

I’m afraid that the “snide” remarks are you personal attacks on people that can’t even defend themselves.is just your opinion or show proof with out your snide comments? Also show how it is a benefit to have illegals suing American companies for following the law.
Unfortunately, when someone hires a company to act as their agent and takes money for it both entities are subject to recourse. Obviously, it was the lawyers who blew it but they were acting as agent for Wendy’s. The lawyers bumbled their responsibility but it was also up to Wendy’s to follow-up. The “illegal” immigrants are suffering unfairly, and if they are able to be made “whole” it serves all of us because they’re likely to be more careful next time. That will make our system more dependable and perhaps the plight of “illegal” immigrant will be better understood.
