I didn’t say it (abortion) was insignificant, just that it has little bearing to this topic. Besides, best estimates are there haven’t been 50 million abortions since illegal immigration became a major issue over the last 7-12 years…
The 50 million is over the last 32 years since Roe v. Wade (approx. 1.5 million per year). Since most people enter the labor market in their late teens/early 20s, the impact of the missing labor starts to ramp up about 20 years after the killing started or about 1993, which coincides nicely with your 7-12 years that illegal immigration has been an issue. Although being from Califonia, I think we’ve been dealing with this issue longer than that. And I’ve heard some estimates that the illegal population is close to 20 million. All the numbers mesh with the impact of abortion.
Most illegals recieve little to no benefits. The health care cost come from them using public clinics and hospitals that must treat everyone coming through the door.
Wrongo. In addition to free care in emergency rooms, illegals can get food stamps, medicaid, driver’s licenses, free public education, subsidized housing or shelter. Those involved in the criminal justice system get free legal counsel and those who are incarcerated are covered by our tax dollars.
