Whoa! Same thing happened to me! Except my best guy friend was Seventh-day Adventist!
 
I was baptized into the Catholic Church as a baby, experienced all of the childhood sacraments, drifted away from the Church and have heard God’s calling to come Home to the Church.

I’m a Informed practicing roman Catholic because:

It is the Only Faith and church founded by God Himself

Because we have validly and licity ALL Seven Sacraments: Christ himself, Known Forgiveness of sins and the last rites

Because in the entire Bible God: Both Yahweh and Christ have always commanded belief in Just One God; Just One Faith and Just One one Church and the CC ALONE meets that COMMAND

I am a Catholic because we are not only “a Bible church” we are thee Bible Church

And lastly: Because Jese gave to Peter ALONE the keys to heaven and I am BLESSED to know that it IS BETTER to enter through the narrow gate then to try to climb in some other way.:)***

Welcome to the faith that has the best means of making a freindship with God that no one can break. I just got home from receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation and I feel the best I have felt in years: spiritually and physically. I will admit I have not been the very best Catholic the last 6 years (the last time I went to Confession) but by receiving that sacrament tonight I feel so much better and ready to take on the task I feel God has asked to do for him and I do with full and complete conviction. It is a dificult taks but with God’s help, strength and guidance I know I will do it the way he wants it done.

When I was younger, I went to a missionary southern baptist church. At the age of 19 my entire family joined the Catholic Church together. I attended Mass for many years then fell away from the church. I did not go anywhere else, just did not attend Mass. I “came home” in 2009. To me there is no greater gift than the grace we received from the Eucharist. Every Sunday, I feel Christ within me. The sacraments are such gifts and cannot be found in full in any other faith. I read something last week that sums it all up. "Within the Catholic Church, one finds the fullness of what Jesus gave us.

=Padraig1972;8545251]at the of 16 i was introduced at school to how bad the catholics was treated in N-Ireland, especially in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. I slowly developed an interest and friendlyness to them. But it took about 19 years for me to do something about it.

But on december 17th in 2009 i visit the St Olav Cathedral in Oslo where i live and it was the first time i ever sat my foot in a catholic church. For the first time in my life, i felt this holyness and God grabbed me literally. A combination of cold and heat at once, feeling so warm, calm and happy at once.

That evening i prayed for the first time in my life, cried, thanked God and a new life began.
I wanted to find the truth and the true church, which i had. The entire 2010 i spent learning about the catholic faith and customs. Going to masses, develop a prayerlife, attending classes (much like RCIA) and at novemeber 24th (soon 1 year ago) i was taken into the church full fellowship.

Writing this, makes me almost crying. Of joy, love and happiness. To finally come home and being a part of a big, wonderful family. I praise God every day for this. He truly is love.

I am a roman catholic because when I was little my parents converted to the catholic faith. But its not only because my parents are. You don’t have to do what your parents do when your old enough to make your own decisions. But would choose to be catholic anyway because I know it is the truth and the one true church. And I know that because we have traditional scripture; the bible; and oral tradition, and I would never turn my back on God!
 
I was born into it, and putting the pieces together realized it all held up.
 
I was baptized, went to Catholic school, but then fell away from the Church for a few years. Last year I came back.

Being Catholic is the greatest gift in the universe! 👍
 
I was born and raised Catholic and because over the years I have convinced myself that there is a Triune God and that Jesus Christ was the second person of that Trinity. Now, if I believe there is a God and Jesus was His Son sent to be sacrificed for my sins, why on Earth or in Heaven would I not want to be a member of the Church He founded?
