I don’t believe I’m allowed to pray Memorares in the place of Hail Mary’s on the Rosary. Are there any solid examples of a saint doing this, or is this an accepted practiced thing? I do not want to start the idea we can just substitute prayers on the prayer beads, though it was originally all Our Fathers. I LOVE the Memorare, and it makes me so happy to say it.

The rosary is a private devotion. There aren’t rules about how to do it. If you want to pray a chaplet of nothing but the Memorare, more power to you. Why would it be wrong?

Thank you Father. Because I believed certain things are left best the way they were.

I’ll go do it right now. Hope I get the whole thing done.

God knows our hearts and prayer should fill us with joy, as we are speaking - conversing - with our Beloved. Can you imagine if husband and wife, boyfriend and girlfriend spoke the same exact words each time they were together?

Personally, I worked in the court system for several decades. Trials were a good part of that. Therefore, when offering the sorrowful mysteries, I sometimes offer a decade contemplating our Lord’s trial before Pilate, as I find that fascinating - and the scourging and crowning together afterward.

Since it is a private devotion, personal details (within reason) can be added.

Honestly I have trouble meditating on one thing for a whole decade so my mind wanders. I gave up trying to meditate, but I’ll give it another go.

I stuck to the Chaplet of Divine Mercy because of that for awhile.

This is extremely cool. I’m going to use this every time I meditate, probably until I can do it on my own. I might print this off.

A Chaplet is a private devotion. The rosary is one of many chaplets. You can use the same Chaplet beads to say different chaplets. For example the Chaplet of Divine Mercy uses the same beads as the Rosary.

If you want to make a Chaplet with Memorare prayers, go for it. There is no reason you can’t. There certainly isn’t any reason you aren’t “allowed” to.

Would it be a “rosary”? Not really. Because a rosary is a specific Chaplet.
