guys i really need to know.
You can never fool God. He knows what was in your heart when you were tempted to look at those videos. Only you and God know if you are in the state of mortal sin. Go to confession and then stay off of youtube. While there are many great videos there I know how tempting it can be to just “peek” at something that sounds “not so bad” and that is where it starts. We call that the near occasion of sin.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is really a great necessity and heals the soul. Don’t count on a forum to reconcile your doubts with how you might have offended God. Go to Him. He’s waiting and then when you leave there is no doubt. You are forgiven and trusted to turn from that kind of behavior. And if you goof again, go again. That’s why Jesus loves us sooo much so as to give us a means to be free.

May God Bless you and keep me in your prayers…teachccd 🙂

Do you use internet explorer? If so, here is what I recommend.
  1. Go to your control panel
  2. Double Click, “internet options”
  3. Go to the “content” tab.
  4. From there, go to “settings,” and put youtube as well as any other potential stumbling websites you may have, in as websites that your computer can NEVER access.
Be sure you hit “apply,” and then on the content tab hit, “enable.”
Make your password a bunch of jibberish letters, write it down, and then give it to a trusted DEVOUT CATHOLIC friend or family member who will only allow you to use it when he/she is with you on the computer and willing to monitor what you are seeing.
You may think, is that too extreme? Absolutely not! You don’t NEED youtube. Think of how long in your life you’ve done without youtube, and realize that you were no worse off, then. In fact, you were better off, then, because you had one less website in which you could potentially sin against God.

Also, be sure you don’t take an attitude of, “It’s just a venial sin, so I can do it.” Instead, take an attitude of, “I will love God with all my heart, mind, soul, and strength.” I would recommend that you go to confession over what you did. I’m not saying that any of it is NECESSARILY a mortal sin, but if not, it certainly had the potential to lead to one. Realize that erotic imagery online is addictive, and should be avoided completely. See Matthew 5:28.

Good advice.
