Hi everyone. I am depressed yet again. Please pray for me that I would come out of this depressive mood and that I would quit being tempted to leave Catholicism.

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless,
and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible,
look kindly upon us, and increase Your mercy in us,
that in difficult moments we might not despair, nor become despondent,
but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will,
which is love and mercy itself.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee
Blessed art thou amongst women
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God pray for us sinners, now
and at the hour of our death. Amen

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.
Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do you, O Prince of the heavenly host,
by the power of God cast into hell satan and all the evil spirits
who wander through the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen

Lord may her guardian angel and patron saints pray for her

“Listen to me, devout children, and blossom
like the rose that grows on the bank of a watercourse.
Give off a sweet smell like incense,
flower like the lily; spread your fragrance abroad,
sing a song of praise
blessing the Lord for all His works.

Declare the greatness of His name,
proclaim His praise
with song and lyre,
and this is how you must sing God’s wonderful praises:
how wonderful they are, all the works of the Lord!
All that He orders is promptly carried out.

You must not say, “What is this? “Why is that?”
All will be studied in due time…
At His bidding, all His pleasure is accomplished,
no one can diminish His power to save.
The actions of every creature are before Him,
there is no hiding from His eyes;
His gaze stretches from eternity to eternity,
and nothing can astonish Him.

You must not say, ‘What is this? Why is that?’
All things have been created for their proper purpose.” [Ecclesiasticus 39:13-26]

O Lady of Mental Peace, Mother of Tranquility and Mother of Hope, look upon me in this my time of weakness and unrest. Teach my searching heart to know that God’s love for me is unchanging and unchangeable; and, that true human love can only begin and grow by touching His love. Let your gentle peace, which this world cannot give, be always with me, and help me to bring this same peace into the lives of others. Our Lady of Mental Peace, pray for me!

Prayers for you, Holly.

Some words of wisdom from Mark Mallett on offering up temptations and suffering from his blog post, Fighting Fire with Fire:
And so I prayed aloud, “I offer up the suffering of these attacks and temptations for the sake of those about to lose their eternal souls to the fires of hell. Every fiery dart thrown at me, I in turn offer that a soul may be saved!”
Immediately, I could tangibly feel the attacks stop; and there was an instant peace like the rays of the sun breaking through a rainy day. A few minutes later, the temptations returned, so I eagerly offered them up again. That’s when the temptations finally ceased.
When I came home, this email was awaiting me, sent in by a reader:
Upon waking one morning I was subjected to a pornographic thought. Knowing where it came from I did not rebel, but I offered this temptation from the evil one as reparation for my sins and the sins of the world. Instantly the temptation disappeared, for the evil one will not be used for reparation for sins.
FIGHT FIRE WITH HOLY FIRE
Are you beset with discouragement? Then wield it like a sword. Are you tortured in conscience? Then swing it like a club. Are you burning with passions, lusts, and fiery cravings? Then send them like arrows into the enemy’s camp. When you are assailed, plunge yourself deep into the wounds of Christ, and let Him transform your weakness into strength.
Suffering is a secret weapon. When united to Christ, it is a blade which severs the cords of slavery binding unknown brothers; it is a light sent to expose the darkness in the soul of a lost sister; it is a tidal wave of grace washing over some soul in the desert of sin… carrying that one away into a sea of Safety, an ocean of Mercy.
Oh how precious our suffering is! How often we waste it!

Hail Mary,
full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the Fruit Of Thy Womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death
Amen

Thanks everyone for your prayers. I am no longer quite so depressed. In fact, I feel pretty good at the moment! 😃

Holly, I’ll keep praying for you daily. I’m glad you are doing better with your battle against your faith. Keep close to Jesus and seek out a good priest to help answer the questions you have. You might like to talk with a good priest when your faith is really challenged and get spiritual direction on a monthly basis. They went to school for such things as understanding trials of faith. Peace and God bless!

Holly if you can get EWTN I would suggest you listen to Fr Groeschel every Sunday evening at 7 pm EST

He is a psychologist as well as being a priest and many people phone in asking him for help and advice…He is so gentle and kind and so wise

I think if you could call and talk to him, it might help you

If you don’t get this channel on your TV you can watch on line at the EWTN website

God bless and happier times are coming
