Wow… My father kept me helpless (didn’t want me to get my driver’s license, for instance) and simultaneously tells me to move out… And takes delight in threatening to throw me out, knowing that at this time, I cannot make it on my own… And while he was in some senses violent, I can’t imagine being pinned to a wall in public.

I can manage to survive at home. You, from the sound of it, probably can’t.

1: Your parents love you. They are just unhealthy.

1. Your relationship with your parents have no boundaries. One could probably extrapolate this to say that you have difficulty setting boundaries in general (although this could be wrong).
2. My advice: Get counseling for YOURSELF, and specifically work on how to set personal boundaries. Buy the book titled “Boundaries”, I think by Dr. Henry Cloud as a start.
3. Personal space and time from your parents will be a good thing. You are an ADULT. You get to make each and every decision regarding YOU for the rest of your life.
4. You are NOT destroying your family.
