But to love for the sake of experiencing love…it really is quite problematic. It is like the person who loves for the sake of the “honeymoon experience”.

I keep forgetting that I’m to love God with all my soul, heart, mind and strength. I know I can do better, and I just have to keep myself focused continuously on silent prayer. I cannot read too much, but I welcome any thoughts you may have.

Yes, there is an hierarchical in the construct of love. There is also a qualitative difference at each of these levels in which a person must struggle upward, gaining a higher-ordered self as the struggle merits
