Fr. Benedict Groeschel, who was exposed to people
in hardship all of the time; and his heart reached out to them,
probably wouldn’t title a thread the same; but he would
give understanding to someone who did.
Possible he would say, even in your pain, it would
be better to ask, ‘Why am I disappointed with God?’
Then like what is in this thread, he would give
some compassionate advice truly seeking to empathize
with the person’s pain. And point to other resources.
I think the idea, there but for the Grace of God, goes I, is a good
start for empathy. No one knows for sure someone’s experience
that brought them to a state in life. And deep emotional pain
can be like a deep physical pain.
Thank God, I’ve had the Grace in my life to see Him as truly Benevolent,
even if in my journey, in emotional pain, I haven’t truly understood it,
asking too much ‘why?,’ when I should have been asking, ‘what can I do, Lord,
to ease my pain and help others?’
Peace of Jesus

Cannot believe anyone can write a header like that… Where is the humility we need?

Why blame God for things going awry?

He is the one Who helps you to bear what life and this world throws at you.

In all things,thank Him …
‘‘Why blame God for things going awry’’ when he could very easily lend us a helping hand but chooses not to? Do you also excuse every irresponsible parent that way? Someone who says he loves us but fails to bring concrete help inasmuch as he’s able to do in times of trouble is a what? Stop with the cognitive dissonance already.

God is completely Benevolent. Jesus said to ask, seek, and knock.
It takes the free gift of faith to realize God brings no evil.
There is unearned suffering on the earth. There are many people
suffering because those sent to help do not go. The truly unearned
sufferers have their suffering joined with Jesus Christ’s suffering on the Cross,
and they will be rewarded forever.
It IS sorrowful, and brings tears to the eyes. And yes, by all means,
it is mysterious to us. But God does, and allows things for His Perfect Compassionate
Benevolent reasons. And He by Divine not Merited Favor provides the path
to trust in Him.

You realize you’re on a Catholic message board, right?

Sometimes I need to get things off my chest. Suffering has always infuriated me, God’s unwillingness to stop what is crushing some people also infuriates me. Some people are more spiritual than others. I’m a carnal Christian, fallen Catholic. The hard truth is that God doesn’t want to help when he easily could and when people beg him to do so. But I understand that in God’s economy, suffering is the currency. I deplore it. I think the OP also deplores it.

We need to trust that suffering is a sharing in the Cross. If God allows it, that is not through indifference or any evil. He is only good. There is no darkness in God, but in ourselves.

Rose,

You forgot your blessings and things to feel greatfull for. You are focusing on the negative.

You are isolating yourself.

Spend time daily in Eucharistic adoration. It will help keep those demons of depression, fear, and negativity away.

Yes life is very tough. Been beat up a few time myself. Kept fighting. It will get better if you hold onto your faith.

I will pray for you tonight. God loves you, but only you can let him in.

With what? And sad that you cannot reply courteously.

Your idea of God is… So you think God should choose to favour you above all others… when He gives us the strength to cope? THAT is the real gift of a really loving parent not some kind of sugar daddy .

An earthly parent who chooses to not give help is just that; l an earthly parent who is weak.

You need to rethink why you are seeking God and your whole idea of God and stop flying off the handle so much please, And to stop hitting out at everyone who does not agree with you! Including God… show some respect, unless of course you are trolling?

I’m disappointed with faith.
I converted to Catholicism a few ago and a few years before that I converted to Christianity from agnosticism.
I felt at the time God was working in me, that he changed me and I thought he would always be with me.
I suffered a lot as a child and teenager growing up so I thought God was working in me to be a better person and I had a desire to help others and became a health care worker.
But then I got severely depressed. I’ve had failed relationships. I’ve been mostly unemployed and when I have worked I’ve been injured at work, bullied and suffered stress.

I’m now isolated, unhappy and poor and I feel God is not there at all.
It’s disappointing because I thought I could use my faith to help others yet I’m the one suffering and not a soul has helped me while I’m down. Not even God.
I believe in him but I think God just lets stuff happen and then we die and get judged, and I’m doubting my salvation now because I just feel the furthest from him.
I didn’t know it was going to be like this. I know saints suffered but they had strength and love from God. I have nothing.
Hey Blue Rose. Hey. I totally understand what you’re saying here. I mean I get this coming and going.

But don’t forget there’s a deeper reason for your pain today. And that’s to give you the depth and courage to fight a different kind of battle. That fight is ongoing of course. But the fortifying for it is sort of in short and tough spots like these.

So please don’t feel down. Don’t feel left out and all alone.

We’re here for you Blue Rose. We’ll take care of you. Just tell us the thing that’s running away from you fastest and we’ll do our best to catch you up.

If you need a shoulder sometime? Just PM me. I’m usually around.

No problem.

Peace Blue Rose. Please take care of yourself. You do matter. You are important.

I’ll be praying for you. I’ll be hoping you feel some strength in as short a time as possible.
