=ceeXbubbles;9808206]For the past few months, I’ve been really terrible and am guilty of the mortal sin. Yeah masturbation… I feel so guilty about it and every time I do it I feel SO guilty!
I got to mass every Sunday and I’m 14 and I’ve only been to confession twice… (first penance and before my confirmation)
I’m not sure if my church does the anonymous confession with the screen, but I’d be too embarrassed to say it to any of the priests in my parish as they all know me!!!
I need to confess I feel so guilty what do I say to the priest if I confess?!
Thanks!
My DEAR FRIEND In Christ;

God is a God of LOVE, Mercy and HELP:)

After all He loved us enough to become a man, and die for us. He also instituted the Seven Sacraments and for US the Sacraments of Confession permit us to participate at the “Altar of Love” and receive jeus Himself to AID US in fightin temptation to sin.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A “NEW SIN” and priest are BOUND under GRAVE penalties to NOT release ANY information sharred in the Confessional.

One of the reasons Christ persoanlly choos the sacrament of Confession AS THE ONLY WAY; THE ONLY MANNER IN WHICH HE; GOD WILL ACTUALLY FORGIVE SINS is the very issue you bring up.

God as our Creator KNOWS that it’s embarrassing to admit we did wrong. THAT FACT is part of God’s Divine Plan to HELP US avoid sins in the future.

In this sex crazed world we live it temptations are great and regular. KEEP a rosary [plastic] on your person. Take it to bed with you, shower with in and carry it around always with you.

Even better is to do that AND ACTAULLY pray the Rosary every day asking for Divne help:thumbsup:

You know what is RIGHT my friend. hell is real and God is Merciful. Don’t let one error keep you seperated from another ERROR; God’s Mercy and Love and the Most Holy Eucharist. DO WHAT IS RIGHT. GET TO CONFESSION ASAP.

I’ll pray for you,

pat /PJm

Everybody’s embarrassed to go to confession.
Haha, yep. At first you’re embarrassed just to go to confession. When you get used to it you get embarrassed for confessing the same sins every week 😊

If i find myself without a screen, i turn my back to the priest or look at the floor. yep, they have heard it all. 🙂

Rather than try to reassure you that priests have heard it all before, and won’t treat you strangely afterwards, I’ll offer the simple solution:

Go to a different parish.
That is what I often do, being among strangers and standing in line to go to a different priest can be liberating for my mind especially if I am embarrassed by a sin & don’t wish to go to the same priest to say it.

Going to a different parish is definitely the way to go. It doesn’t matter which church you go to as long as you confess your sins.

The hard part is when you confess your sins and then you commit the sin again and again. It’s a struggle. You feel terrible when you confess your sins, say that you will turn away to sin, and yet keep doing it again. You really feel humbled and lowly when you have to go before the Lord and say, I have sinned against you… again. That feels more embarrassing than facing the priest.

Keep praying and working hard to rid yourself of a habit that, especially in today’s world is extremely hard to beat.

I just want to say that, as a Junior High catechist and a Confirmation facilitator, it is refreshing to hear how concerned you are to please the Lord. What an honor it should be for all who know you as their friend. Every young person should discern their souls as you are doing by coming here.

Your actions are not foreign to anyone here. I do not know if you are a young man or a young lady but that really doesn’t matter. What matters is that you are following your informed conscience and you are doing very well. You had a priest answer your post. I am not a priest but, working with young people, I can truly say that I am hearing more and more young people taking their faith seriously and wanting Christ in their lives. We all fail with weaknesses and sin. I am an older man and I still confess some embarassing sins over and over again. It’s not about our falls as much as it is about our getting back up. May God bless you and guide you now and always. Go to confession and do not be afraid. God loves you so much and will be so happy to see you there. 🙂

FIrst off, you just published your sin on the internet. It’s available for millions of people to see. If you can do that, you can survive confession.

Next, you have a canonical right to anonymous confession. If your parish doesn’t have a screen talk to your pastor. If he won’t put one in, go to your Bishop.

I would say that if you’re that worried about a priest knowing who you are, go to the parish in the next town over. But you’re 14, you can’t drive. So I’d actually so you go in the complete opposite direction. Ask one of the priests in your parish about spiritual direction. You’ll meet with that priest on a regular basis and have the opportunity to confess your sins. There’s something to be said for being completely open about your spiritual life with another person - especially a priest.

Lastly, remember that we’re all sinners and most of us struggle with committing the same sins over and over. It truly is embarrassing. You’re not telling priests anything new in the confessional. It’s Satan who wants to keep you from confession. Go and confess and you’ll be showered with God’s grace.

Rather than try to reassure you that priests have heard it all before, and won’t treat you strangely afterwards, I’ll offer the simple solution:

Go to a different parish.
Go to a different parish by all means but I think you will feel more comfortable by facing up to your fear in the long run and that way you can learn to trust the priests. They all know you say, but they will keep your secrets a secret especially in confession. You can trust them to do that. In time you will learn how to face the priest naturally after the confession. By escaping to another parish you will never learn to face the priest naturally after the confession. He won’t talk about what you said. He can’t. He will also be aware of your personal embarrassment in facing them afterwards as He will have done so with everyone who has to face them aferwards whatever their confession may consist of.

You will do well if you can go to the parish priest and they get to know you well quite deliberately so in turn you learn to trust them and tell them the things you need to tell them. Im not male and I am Anglican but I prefer face to face confession. I panicked last year when the priest sat in front of me and that kind of finished me because am used to seeing their face even though they don’t react. Next time he moved up along the pew so I could see a bit of his face. I have no idea whether he has been doing his own thinking or picked up on my panic which I kept silent about at the time.

However, be brave and face the priest you know. Far easier to talk about personal sins to them and they will not give you away at all and it be easier to face them again and you will get used to it. First time hard but gets easier and they will understand your fear, especially if you word it into your confession.
HOpe it goes well for you
