So a few minutes ago I was searching up free downloads for songs for a website I was making. After going on one of the sites I get a notification that says blocked firewall, so I click back, it shows the same thing after, and then after that I click back and it sends me to a sexual application for meeting people. So after that I close it and then I try to find more songs. I end up clicking the same site and doing the same thing! I’m an idiot. This is at school and I hope this wasn’t a sin, and I hope I don’t get into trouble. What do I do!?

Edit: I’m aware it’s not a sin, was my fault for posting that part. I realized before anyone commented.

Doesn’t sound like a sin. But stay away from that link so you don’t get in trouble at school

Report the incident to your IT department at school. Their firewall isn’t as great as they think it is.
They can fix it.

Good idea. Just say you believe the firewall has been compromised.

I don’t see why you can’t explain the situation to the school exactly as you did here. It was not intentional and you did not mean to come across it. I would be upfront about the situation–it’s harder to defend it if it appears you tried to hide what happened. In any case, it was an accident. Sins and accidents are not the same thing. Don’t be so hard on yourself.

Well I did delete the search history. I didn’t like having that stuff in my history. Did that make it worse?

That’s fine, I just think it would be better i you acknowledge “hey, this happened” on the off chance that somebody noticed it and is going to say something to you about it. Better to inform them instead. (Also informing them of the firewall issue is a good idea.)

Ya. I’m informing them as soon as I get to school

@Joe1. Dude you have some of the most severe scruples I’ve ever seen.

You really need some spiritual guidance, you are headed for spiritual disaster if you can’t get these scruples under control.

You will inevitably end up totally rejecting the faith when you get older if you can’t get these scruples under control.

Satan is messing with you. Big time.

If you are referring to me worrying if it was sinful, I should have deleted that part because obviously it wasn’t a sin if it wasn’t voluntarily. Apologies. I mostly created the post to ask what I should do. The sinful part shouldn’t have been there. Very sorry

Is that a possibility? I hope not. My faith is all I really have to help me out.

Might just be fear for the school district IT Dept. Been there for many years, districts like to keep you afraid. Hang in there and just be upfront when you access anything inappropriate. Also, if you’re using school computers for personal use, make sure that is allowed. My district did not allow, but everyone did. That doesn’t make it right, but if they are ever looking for a reason to downsize, it does give them something to use against you. Don’t know if you’re an employee or student.

I’m a student. grade 11.
That doesn’t make it right, but if they are ever looking for a reason to downsize, it does give them something to use against you.

But why would they downsize and take it out on me!? I’m a student

Because I’m an employee, I assumed you were, too! You informed the office and all is well. I admire your tenacity to do the right thing. I wish more students were like you.
