“Please demonstrate”? You mean aside from the fact that I was responding to another poster who brought up this subject and aside from the fact that I’ve repeatedly (ad nausea at this point) said that I’m happy to have this conversation via private message? How on earth does one believe that
I’m derailing the thread?
And this is why I responded when the Holocaust was raised as a topic initially. As someone who is knowledgeable about the Church and the Holocaust, it’s painful when fellow Catholics fail to acknowledge the Church’s role during that time in all its complexity. And it’s worse when this misinformation is used as an example in conjunction with other topics, like gay marriage. Rete, I’m sorry that you won’t engage with the content I suggested. I still don’t mean to be rude but you’re wrong here, Rete – factually and historically wrong. I’d prefer you weren’t (I receive no joy from acknowledging my Church’s failings) but you are. You could read the sources I offered but it’s probably easier to just assume that I’m a self-hating Catholic. That’s cool.
So I’m guessing from the tenor of comments here that I’ll now be blamed for continuing a conversation about the Holocaust that’s off-topic.

And I’m guessing that I’ll be blamed for slandering the Church without evidence (which I didn’t provide directly but instead provided a link to avoid getting further off-topic).

And I’m guessing that I’ll be blamed for being defensive and wanting the last word.

Can’t wait to see if I’m right.
