When God sends another mouth to feed, he sends another loaf of bread, too.

You’ll figure it out, I’m sure. Many have before you 😉 .

It still is a bit early, but that’s our estimate so far. We’ll get a more exact estimate at her first doctor’s appointment.

By the way, she talked to a few doctors–even Catholic doctors–and they don’t want to see her until around 12 weeks. Huh? I thought you’d want to get in there ASAP to check for potential problems.
That seems to be the norm these days. At least you get to have the excitement of an ultrasound at your first appointment. They didn’t used to do that. So, make sure you go in with her.

Are you counting from conception or from the first day of the last menstrual period? The 40 week gestational period is from lmp, so maybe thats why (maybe she is 5w+). I usually get morning sickness around 6w.

When I was pregnant with my first I could not understand why they didn’t want to see me until then either. I read they like to wait until it is a “well established” pregnancy. If she is not taking prenatal vitamins she can call the office of the dr she made an appointment with ( I can’t give medical advice but she can ask them if she should be taking them) and start taking them. That will help make sure she gets what she needs (especially the folic acid etc). With my first no one told me that when I called to make the appointment, but a family member told me (wife of a dr) so I ran to the pharmacy and got some over the counter ones while I waited for the first drs visit.

Congratulations again!!!

This is awesome, montanaman! Congratulations!

Oh, by the way, I have some items you may want to sell in your new eBay business! 😃

Congratulations!!! It’s so cute when daddy’s have a baby “ticker tape”. I love that.

Congrats man that’s great! I look forward to having a family of my own one day too. 🙂

your story was so adorable. You both are quite blessed indeed! Congratulations and may God bless you both. 😃

That’s an awesome quote on which to hang some hope. Thank you.

Prayers for your baby, your wife’s health, your finances, and your state of mind! 😛 on that last one! 😉

So, anyway, I’m gonna be a daddy.
You were “gonna be a daddy” when you got married; now that you’re expecting, you ARE a Daddy!!! 😃

Congratulations, Montana! When is your due date? I haven’t checked the Pregnant Mommies thread yet, but if you haven’t posted by now, get your little rear over there (we welcome Daddies, too)!

Heck! What happened? Where was I – why wasn’t I invited to the wedding? Did this happen during Lent when I was off the forums for 6 weeks???

Congratulations. Hope all goes well and that your financial straits clear up.

Prayer ascending.

Congratulations!

If you don’t have it already, get a copy of Marilyn Shannon’s book “Ferility, Cycles & Nutrition.” She’s got a good section on prenatal nutrition, including how to deal with morning sickness, prevent pre-eclampsia, etc.

I followed her suggestions for dealing with morning sickness with this (my second) pregnancy, and found them to be very helpful. (In a nutshell, wifey needs to eat wayyy more often than she’s used to–every hour, in some cases–and keep a little snack tray handy by the bed so that she eats before bed, whenever she wakes up at night, and as soon as she’s awake in the morning.) Carb-fat-protein combos are key, as is extra B-6 vitamins.

Eating more seems counterintuitive when you’re queasy, but it can’t hurt to try, right?

The due date is sometime in March, but she’s been told that smaller women often deliver early. Theoretically, this kid could be born on her birthday. We’ll know more after the first doc’s appointment.

As for the Pregnant Mommy’s thread, uh…maybe later. I’m already having issues. #1, I put a due-date ticker in my sig line. I’m not sure if guys are supposed to do that. #2, I ran out of shaving gel this morning and used something of her’s called “Skintimates.” It did the job alright, but I’m now emitting billowing clouds of pretty-smelling scent.

Ahem. I need a beer. A big, manly beer…

Yeah, she pretty much goes nowhere without a bag of ginger snaps. I can’t stand the things, but they keep her from ralphing, which I appreciate.

Hehehe… well, you could have used conditioner instead. Or peanut butter. Next time, use peanut butter (the creamy kind), so you don’t smell girly.

LOL. Sounds like Grace has her territory marked. 😉

I sure hope so! I’m really little, too, and I’m hoping this baby comes 1-2 weeks early so that I won’t be pressured into another C-section. 😉

Of course you can!!! As long as the ticker doesn’t look like mine (big pregnant lady icon to the left, with a daisy moving along the line). 😃
