That seems to be the norm these days. At least you get to have the excitement of an ultrasound at your first appointment. They didn’t used to do that. So, make sure you go in with her.It still is a bit early, but that’s our estimate so far. We’ll get a more exact estimate at her first doctor’s appointment.
By the way, she talked to a few doctors–even Catholic doctors–and they don’t want to see her until around 12 weeks. Huh? I thought you’d want to get in there ASAP to check for potential problems.
I LIKE that! When God sends another mouth to feed, he sends another loaf of bread, too.

Are you counting from conception or from the first day of the last menstrual period? The 40 week gestational period is from lmp, so maybe thats why (maybe she is 5w+). I usually get morning sickness around 6w.It still is a bit early, but that’s our estimate so far. We’ll get a more exact estimate at her first doctor’s appointment.

That’s an awesome quote on which to hang some hope. Thank you. When God sends another mouth to feed, he sends another loaf of bread, too.

You were “gonna be a daddy” when you got married; now that you’re expecting, you ARE a Daddy!!!So, anyway, I’m gonna be a daddy.
The due date is sometime in March, but she’s been told that smaller women often deliver early. Theoretically, this kid could be born on her birthday. We’ll know more after the first doc’s appointment. You were “gonna be a daddy” when you got married; now that you’re expecting, you ARE a Daddy!!!
Congratulations, Montana! When is your due date? I haven’t checked the Pregnant Mommies thread yet, but if you haven’t posted by now, get your little rear over there (we welcome Daddies, too)!
Yeah, she pretty much goes nowhere without a bag of ginger snaps. I can’t stand the things, but they keep her from ralphing, which I appreciate.Congratulations!
If you don’t have it already, get a copy of Marilyn Shannon’s book “Ferility, Cycles & Nutrition.” She’s got a good section on prenatal nutrition, including how to deal with morning sickness, prevent pre-eclampsia, etc.
I followed her suggestions for dealing with morning sickness with this (my second) pregnancy, and found them to be very helpful. (In a nutshell, wifey needs to eat wayyy more often than she’s used to–every hour, in some cases–and keep a little snack tray handy by the bed so that she eats before bed, whenever she wakes up at night, and as soon as she’s awake in the morning.) Carb-fat-protein combos are key, as is extra B-6 vitamins.
Eating more seems counterintuitive when you’re queasy, but it can’t hurt to try, right?
Hehehe… well, you could have used conditioner instead. Or peanut butter. Next time, use peanut butter (the creamy kind), so you don’t smell girly. As for the Pregnant Mommy’s thread, uh…maybe later. I’m already having issues. #1, I put a due-date ticker in my sig line. I’m not sure if guys are supposed to do that. #2, I ran out of shaving gel this morning and used something of her’s called “Skintimates.” It did the job alright, but I’m now emitting billowing clouds of pretty-smelling scent.
Ahem. I need a beer. A big, manly beer…
LOL. Sounds like Grace has her territory marked.#2, I ran out of shaving gel this morning and used something of her’s called “Skintimates.” It did the job alright, but I’m now emitting billowing clouds of pretty-smelling scent.
I sure hope so! I’m really little, too, and I’m hoping this baby comes 1-2 weeks early so that I won’t be pressured into another C-section.The due date is sometime in March, but she’s been told that smaller women often deliver early.
Of course you can!!! As long as the ticker doesn’t look like mine (big pregnant lady icon to the left, with a daisy moving along the line).#1, I put a due-date ticker in my sig line. I’m not sure if guys are supposed to do that.
