Hey everyone,
Today I should be finding out if I made the RCIA team for next year. I hope I did, but I definitely want God’s will to be done. I’ll let you know what happens.

Are they selective about who gets into RCIA? I am confused

I believe he means he is part of the team who supports and teaches the RCIA candidates.

Yes, I did mean the team that supports and teaches the candidates. By the way, I am a ‘she’, not a ‘he’, although that really doesn’t matter to the subject.

:o Oh. I’m blaming it on a blonde moment! 😃

Congratulations and thanks to you. The RCIA team is very dedicated and they put in a lot of time and effort. As a new convert I was very grateful for their commitment and faith

My deepest apologies for the mix-up!

Congratulations on your accomplishment nonetheless! 👍

Congratulations!! As a new convert I can truly tell you how important and what a big commitment it is. People coming into this faith are dead serious, or should be. Our “team” quit after the first meeting and the Priest did the classes, cancelling many, and never did finish Mystagogy. He skipped several parts including the retreat day, only two of us went to Rite of Election, the other two signed their name in the book later at a restaurant. I love my new faith and had to do most of my studying on my own. What really was bad is he would not tell us until we got there he could not do the class some of the time. Very inconsiderate! I read alot of books and had a great sponsor , or I think I would have said forget it. So please, be considerate of your students and take them seriously. It sounds like will be, God BLess and Good Luck!

Congrats!!! A good team is really important for the RCIA process. I LOVED RCIA. I think I really miss it too!!

Thanks everyone for the congratulations. I am really excited about it, and I will definitely take it seriously. NewCatholicGirl, I’m sorry that your RCIA experience was so frustrating. I’m very fortunate to be in a church where we typically have a good team. This will be my first year on the team, so I’m not entirely sure what I’ve gotten myself into, but I am certainly excited to find out!

NewCatholicGirl I too feel bad for you as our RCIA team is SOOOOO dedicated. They come rain, shine, sun shade whatever. Our priest did about half of the meetings or parts of them but the lay team did most of the work. I really appreciated it.

Tonight is our FINAL meeting. We’ve been together every week since late August. It’s going to be wierd not to have RCIA.
