I am so excited but feel guilty that I am so “impressed” that I am going to meet a very famous woman. She is very pro-life and I am meeting her with my boss next week.

I feel so silly because I feel like a kid about meeting her.
My husband has been laughing at me because I have been exchanging e-mails with her personally this week. I know we aren’t supposed to get excited about “earthly” attachments, fame, etc. but I feel like a gawky pre-teen. I want to tell my friends but I don’t want to come accross like I am bragging. I guess that is why I am telling my CAF friends, hopefully you will understand.

Suddenly I feel the need to pray about this because I should be more grounded about this.

Have you ever met or met with someone who you just really looked up to and was considered “famous” whether by societal standards, church standards, etc?

PS-I will tell you all who it is when I get back from my meeting.

I’m excited for you!! 🙂 Be sure to tell us the story when you get back from the meeting. 👍

ooooooooh, I’m on the edge of my seat. Very curious.

I hope it is an inspiring experience for you.

I got to hug Rosalind Moss a couple days ago. 👍

And you did not tell, leonie!😉

What a blessing!!! Tell us all about it when you can…soon!

I LOVE her!!!
She talked to me at a conference ini Buffalo a couple of years ago and gave me some excellent direction! I didn’t talk to her long but you can tell she is very holy!

The person I am meeting isn’t a practicing Catholic but I have hope she will come back to the Church!

I promise I will report back on Tuesday evening!

Well, my family and I got to spend the night in a guest house with Jim and Kerri Caviezel.

At first it was quite intimidating, but once you got to know them, they were just “normal” people. Very pleasant. The guys watched football together and the women chatted and prayed the Rosary.

Though I will admit SEVERE EMBARASSMENT while talking to Jim in my bathrobe without my makeup on!!! :o (We hadn’t expected them to arrive till later that night but they got in early - and we were already all jammied up.) 🙂

Can’t wait to hear who it is, LynnieLew!

My friend and I were just talking about him today!
We both said we never want to meet him! 😃 He is far too handsome and being around him would not be a good thing. We are only human after all! LOL

I am sure you looked cute as a button in your bathrobe!

I just gasped out loud when I read this! Oh, how I would love to know the details!😉

I agree completely! When I watch him in other movies besides the Passion, I always have to pray that God will keep my mind and heart pure! It’s so difficult! What a masterpiece he is, huh? God does good work!

I couldn’t sleep for 3 weeks before meeting Father Corapi!🙂

I first saw him in The Count of Monte Cristo and I’ve always thought so 😉

Oh yes. And “Frequency”. My, oh my. I had better sign off now. I’m coming dangerously close to “bad girl” ideas!

I get “star struck” easily, too. For instance, at book signings. Last summer I went to a conference where Marcus Grodi (The Journey Home) was signing copies of his book, and while in line I had to hand my copy to my daughter and ask her to get him to sign both of ours because I had an attack and just couldn’t do it–I was afraid I’d babble on and look stupid!) Thanks for sharing–I’m glad I’m not the only one. 🙂

I had my own “brush with fame” day before yesterday. Our state governor’s brother delivered two new bulls to our farm! He gave my children beer glasses 🙂 with the gubernatorial seal emblazoned on them along with money clips and tie clasps. Nice gesture, but I’m not sure he secured any votes for his brother at the next election.

I’m not one to impress easily, but I must say that there’s nothing like standing on a pile of manure to bring anyone down a few notches on the fame scale!😉

Will look forward to hearing about your meeting, LynnieLew!

The Count of Monte Cristo is why I still haven’t seen the Passion. Jim Caviezel is one of the prettiest men out there, and I can’t look at Jesus like that.

And as to topic, I met Christopher West last year. You can feel love radiating off of him.

May I venture a guess at who the person is or would you prefer to not say?

Wow you guys are definitely connected!!! My brushes with famous people are so much different… When I was 4 yo I saw Jackie Gleason in a restaurant and said, “Look daddy that’s Jackie Gleason” He heard and came over to our table and kissed my hand. I think I was his youngest fan.

But, I think the coolest was walking up behind Theresa Grentz (Womens basketball coach at U of I) at an Illini football game and she was talking about me…OMGosh! Too funny! She is friends with my boss and she walked over to him and said,“I heard someone in Rantoul got married at the reindeer ranch a couple weeks ago” So I said, “That was me, the wedding was at St Malachy’s but the reception was at the reindeer ranch” She says, “That was You!” And we had a good laugh about the gossip mill making it sound like the wedding was at the ranch. Since then, she has come to speak at women’s health week in our town and she looked me and the bosses wife up to have lunch.

It is really cool having the boss I have… I get to meet some interesting people. I haven’t met him yet but Joe Trucelli (race car driver) calls the office every so often and I get to chat with him… he is really funny.

I got to meet Vincent Price once!

I know we are not supposed to get too attached to earthly stuff but I have to tell you I can be like a little kid when I meet a favorite football player, actor, singer, apologist - whatEVER! So, I just wanted to say “go and have FUN” and you just better share with all of us so we can giggle with you…

I’ve have been incredibly blessed to meet Father Pablo Straub, and Archbishop Raymond Burke at the studio of Saint Michael’s Media. Both incredibly holy and wonderful men.

One of the most humbling things I’ve ever done was to adjust and pin closed the hem of Father Straub’s cassock prior to the taping of a show so as to keep it from coming open near his feet. I was on my knees on the stage on front of him, and I had to choke back tears. It still gets me choked up to this day. :o

Archbishop Burke’s visit was quite hectic, and I was a total mush mouth!! 😊 I felt like a silly little girl around him - but it was an amazing experience to have him visit our humble little apostolate.
