Im not afraid anymore, im sick of this, i am going to go ahead and say that I am a homosexual male, there is no if and or buts about it, i have lookedback on my life numerous times and realized it, i cant hide it any more, i dont feel wrong or weird, more so I feel wrong or weird what my friends may think about it, even though they are supportive, something tellsme theyve known of this a long time, i used to hate homosexuals, and perhaps alot of situations in my life pointed me this way for a long time, its nothing weird when you are one, because it feels natural, but i know that it isnt natural for everyone else, anyways, i will continue to live my faith, but felt like i should post htis… thats all.

I have spoken to a priest about this and he said that being homosexual isn’t a huge thing that we should focus a lot on in our life considering some people are struggling to even eat or have shelter. We shouldn’t put too much weight upon it. He said it a lot better than I can, but that’s the gist of it. Don’t let it bother you or stress you out.

Hi, I know it took courage to say that. Being honest is most often the best way to go.

Always remember you are God’s Child first and foremost. Continue to follow Him and his commandments and you will find a joy filled life.

God Bless You.

SSA is not a sin, but homosexual acts are. Continue leading a chaste life and all will be well. :harp:

Love ya, pwlj. I know that took courage to say. God loves us as we are, not as we wish to be. Keep close to Him and seek out His will for your life.

Welcome to the party. A lot of us in the same neighborhood here. So you’ve got as much support in this as you need.

Peace buddy.

… it feels natural, but i know that it isnt natural for everyone else …
But you do agree that feelings don’t determine the morality of something, right? Moreover, you do understand that natural law =/= a law based on how each individual naturally feels about something?

I want to point out, also, that you’ve had some “supportive” comments thus far. Well, I’m frankly troubled by your statement that you “don’t feel wrong” about homosexuality. I want to encourage you to seek grace and to battle your temptations, because they are in fact wrong.

Thank God that there are apostolates like Courage, and I would heartily urge you to investigate them.

SSA is not a sin, but homosexual acts are.
Temptations are never sins, of course, and the temptation to lust after the same sex is just as much a mortal sin as are many others.

BUT … it should be kept in mind that partially consenting to temptations is probably venially sinful most of the time … and we should always do our best to rely on grace so that we always flee from temptation and resist it completely. Playing with temptations will make it much easier to give in to them, and, of course, we can commit mortal sins in thought without externalizing the thought into an “act.”

I mention this because I’m afraid that bald statements like the one I quoted can be seen as a certain license.

I’m assuming the first statement is a typo, right?

As for the second quoted statement, I don’t believe anyone has suggested or implied that homosexual acts are okay. Admitting to SSA is simply telling us a little more about who the OP is and what he is facing. No different than anyone posting they face temptations in envy, pride, sloth, etc.

God Bless You.
