hello all, its been several months since my last posting, over time i thought things would get better, some things have, others however have not; im bitter and dissapointed

-an example, It seems like no matter how high I put my goals, they become unreachable take this semester in college i took 5 classes i promised myself no more foul-ups instead i finished with 4 B’s and 1 C, sure I pass but my GPA is not in the 3.0 range, how am I suppose to get into grad school? much less the army, that is one of my desires, to go become an Army officer. Please no insulting on my choice for a military career as almost my entire life dealt with the military. Personally I believe everyone should do something good for their country like serving in the military. But how am I suppose to become an officer if I cant even bring up my GPA?

-the people i know in college, a couple are clingy, some are excuse me but rather too open in terms of their sexuality, I’ve been keeping it in my pants for 25yrs, I’m just waiting for the right person to come along, thats the thing I have yet to find her. I’ve gone on dates but I’m not happy or satifsy with whome im with, most of the girls have ok personalities but I need so much more. Sometimes i feel like im sourrounded with morons, in fact I only have about 2 real good friends in college, 1 is married and has kids, the other annoys me alot. or take my club that several of my “friends” and myself made, guess what? didnt work out, only a minority put in effort about 14 people on the roster only 4 actually tried to make it succeed, and for hte most part i busted my back to make it happen and it didnt, what would jesus tell me? I have so many worries and doubts of the future.

United States Army Soldier here, not currently serving in active duty at your disposal soldier.

You aren’t military material at present, not by far, it takes boot camp to get you initiated to that, and to even come remotely to preparing yourself for that in the civilian world, forget it, it’s just not going to happen. You have to be far, far, and I mean far tougher then what you face now in order to cut the mustard as an effective soldier, much less officer. I will tell it to you straight, not going to candy coat anything at all and not cottle you if you are at all thinking of joining the military. I’ll show restraint here at this stage until you reply back, and I will warn you that I will not at all be hand holding in the process nor gentle, so please, other posters keep in mind if you interject, be x or current military material, otherwise you are not going to lead this one the proper direction.

** what would jesus tell me? I have so many worries and doubts of the future.**
Mt 6:
16 "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat (or drink), or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?
26
Look at the birds in the sky; they do not sow or reap, they gather nothing into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are not you more important than they?
27
Can any of you by worrying add a single moment to your life-span? 17
28
Why are you anxious about clothes? Learn from the way the wild flowers grow. They do not work or spin.
29
But I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was clothed like one of them.
30
18 If God so clothes the grass of the field, which grows today and is thrown into the oven tomorrow, will he not much more provide for you, O you of little faith?
31
So do not worry and say, ‘What are we to eat?’ or ‘What are we to drink?’ or ‘What are we to wear?’
32
All these things the pagans seek. Your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.
33
But seek first the kingdom (of God) and his righteousness, and all these things will be given you besides.
34
**Do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself. Sufficient for a day is its own evil. **

First take a study skills course and put the time into study you must do
google.com/#hl=en&source=hp&q=study+skills+course&aq=f&aqi=g7g-m2&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=CU8x7QN__S_6bOp-yMeqlscUHAAAAqgQFT9DcGAs&fp=1df4639b9e375fe6

Second, evaluate the places you hang out, church groups, the bar or whatever. Form study groups. Hang out in the places where you will find the type of gal you are looking for.

Psalm 37:3-7 (New International Version)

3 Trust in the LORD and do good;
dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.

4 Delight yourself in the LORD
and he will give you the desires of your heart.

5 Commit your way to the LORD;
trust in him and he will do this:

6 He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn,
the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.

7 Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him;
do not fret when men succeed in their ways,
when they carry out their wicked schemes.

Chill out!

That is the first piece of advice that this old gaffer will deliver. I have 3 master’s degrees. I finished my under-grad with a 2.54, most of the points gained in my last 2 years.

I usually advise young people, especially like you who want an “action” career to stop worrying about the GPA, that is for academics. Pass your courses and build personal relationships. If you plan a military career, meet others like you and get used to the atmosphere of the Officer’s Club.

This is not to say you should give in to every temptation. Resist the Devil and he will flee from you.

Bless you and enjoy your studies.

Thank you all for your replies, all of this does help

to prodigalson12, where should I start? What kind of mentality should I develop?

You need to start developing leadership skills. Refering to your circle of friends as “clingy”, “morons” and “annoying” is immature at best. A good leader will identify each man’s skills and good qualities, and bring them out, for the benefit of the group.
