I'm not a servant!

To be servant of God is honor.
A non-catholic -claimed to be christian - thinks he isn’t.
He said he is only son.
Is this sin. should this be considered an arrogation or it’s ok ?!

In the Gospels Christ says to the Apostles:
*No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you * (John 15:15)

Likewise he says:
*“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.” * (Mt 5:9)

So we can see that there is justification for saying tha tone is not a servant, but a friend and even brother to Christ in being sons of God.

Of course Christ also said that I have not come to be served but to serve (Mt 20:28) and the greatest among you must be the servantof the others (Mt 20:26-27)

So - I dont’ know that the declarations themselves need be considered sinful, but one ould need to look at the motivation and actions of teh one making such statements. They might deny “being a servant” but if they “Act the servant” (for the love of God and neighbor) then they are fulfilling Christ’s teachings. If not - well then they are a false Christian for they do not follow Christ in humility.

Just my 2 cents worth

Well, the first person to say “I will not serve” was satan. I would suggest that you dont follow his life plan, since it didnt work out well for him.

That being said, God does not call the worthy to serve, He makes worthy those whom he calls. Have faith brother (sister?) and pray.
 
There are many l analogies for the faithful; servant, soldier, athlete, friend, etc. Not considering one or more of these isn’t sinful, per se, but perhaps people prefer certain descriptions than others. 🤷

This means that the priority is to be God servant 👍 rather than to others.

Do you know another verses about good people being servants of God, about humility and not to be arrogant ?

I think Christianity teaches you to be servant & child versus Islam which teaches you to be only servant.

Christianity is some sort of upgrade to the human being, it takes you to the heavenly level while reminds you of your earthy one.

Being a servant only is not bad at all (i.e., in Islam), but being a servant & child in is way much better (i.e., in Christianity).

It’s your choice…🙂
