Praying, I am just going to say The Divine Mercy I will offer it up for You!

Convert:

We can and are prayng for you, and earnestly, but you and your husband have to pray together, even if you only say the Lord’s Prayer, the Jesus’ Prayer, the Immaculate Heart of Mary or some other short prayer that you can do easily.

No matter how dry, dusty or difficult it is, or how tired or depressed you are, you need to pray so you can experience the Presence of God and know how much He loves you and cares about you.

It’s the Devil, the Liar and the Father of all Lies, who wants you not to pray and not to experience the Presence and the love of God.

Even if all you do is repeat the 88th Psalm and tell God how much things suck, you need to pray - Even St. Teresa of Avila once said, “Lord, you’d have more friends if you treated them better!” after she had been thrown in the mud during a particularly bad week.

**He Giveth More Grace
**
He giveth more grace as our burdens grow greater,
He sendeth more strength as our labors increase;
To added afflictions He addeth His mercy,
To multiplied trials he multiplies peace.

When we have exhausted our store of endurance,
When our strength has failed ere the day is half done,
When we reach the end of our hoarded resources
Our Father’s full giving is only begun.

His love has no limits, His grace has no measure,
His power no boundary known unto men;
For out of His infinite riches in Jesus
He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again.
By Annie J. Flint (1866-1932)*

The author of the poem, Annie Johnson Flint, suffered with arthritis for 40 years. But that terrible affliction did not embitter her. And out of the crucible of her suffering came a new and beautiful understanding of the meaning of guidance expressed in these lovely words: “He giveth more grace”

Thanks everyone. Keep praying. As long as I don’t think about my struggles, especially with mortal sin, confession, cannon law, excommunication, etc. I do better. I know it’s not good to ignore these things. But I have to for sanity and that of my husband. 🤷

Please continue praying for my husband. He just got a whole load of projects, due by the end of this week. 😦 He has to work late almost every night. 😦

Thanks again everyone. God bless you and yours!

Who suggested that you were guilty of Mortal Sin? Or that you might have to deal with some code of Canon Law or even be excommunicated?

Suffering Depression is not a Sin, esp. if you’re seeking treatment or cooperating with a medically prescribed treatment regimen.

Depression breaks no code of Canon Law that I’ve heard of, and is most certainly NOT grounds for exommunication.

And, Even if you’ve missed a few masses because of your depression, that’s something to go to Confession for, not grounds for excommunication.

There’s only one thing I think you need to do - find yourself a Confessor who can also act as your Spiritual Director. A good Spiritual director can help you by telling what the teaching of the Church is and isn’t, and what’s important and what isn’t important.

The Devil is a Liar and the Father of Lies, and he’s the one who’s telling you these lies. His purpose is to lie, steal, kill and destroy. Please don’t listen to him and his lies.

Traditional Ang is right.
The Devil is a liar.
The lie is his weapon of choice.
Find a trustworthy spiritual advisor.
Trust God. He is not looking for an excuse to condemn you. He wants to save you. He* died *to save you.
The Devil is a liar, and one of his favorite lies is to tell you that God doesn’t love you.

The truth is this:
God loves you beyond all limit. :extrahappy:

Thank you again for all of your prayers and kind words. They mean so much to me. Thanks to you all again and may God bless you for your kindness to me. 🙂
