I'm really feeling distant from God. Need help

Hmm ok. I’m definitely going to differentiate between other posters who are attacking your perspective. This could come from any number of places, I don’t think it’s fair to assume one.

To your question- My initial thought is that God made us for love. Remember His commandments. Love the Lord your God with all your heart mind soul and strength. But the second was Love your neighbor as yourself. You can’t love robots or a rock like humans. And remember when God saw Adam was alone, He said “this isn’t good”. So he made more.

I don’t think God wants us to be alone, we are in community. Remember the Old Testament, God was in conversation with us. Pilate betrayed Jesus, he had free agency to do so.

Also remember the Our Father,

“Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.”

There seemed to be a community that is baked into the cake. Your not alone. As Saint Paul said “sometimes I feel like a stranger in a strange land”, which might indicate that some on the path of holiness might feel isolated… however you always have others who are faithful, angels, and God Himself with you on your journey. So take heart you have a community with you.

Hope something in there helps, regards mate.

Why would God make so many of us that look like humans that lie to you and say that we are conscious beings?
It’s not that they would be lying. If they were truly unconscious, they couldn’t lie. They would just appear to be saying something when they really arent.
It would be lying, as in God lying to you by making creatures that all pretend to be conscious human beings who made up elaborate histories, volumes of books, etc.

Of course he would not. There are different levels of consciousness, and of course some or maybe even most of the Saints are conscious. On the one hand we cannot know their life, but on the other hand if you read the things that they write to you can immediately tell their level of consciousness.

I understand that most people out there do not seem to be aware, or conscious. But there is a deeper minority that is. We shouldn’t judge the people that are not conscious for they are living their journey and doing the best they can. Sometimes people who are conscious here are here to help them evolve up the consciousness scale or to learn something that would be for the greater good. All of God is love and that way.

My suggestion is if you truly feel you are conscious, to really look deep inside each and everyone you meet and find the consciousness that they have as well. And connect with that piece.

Look at nature, the son of a lion is a lion, the son of a dog is a dog, you are the son or daughter of humans who passed on their nature to you. Part of that nature is having a consciousness.
I thought this would be the solution as well, until I was told on another thread on here that it wouldn’t contradict God’s nature for him to have a conscious person conceived by two unconscious beings or a conscious being to conceive an unconscious being.
Hope something in there helps, regards mate.
It does help, but my problem is I can’t have absolute certainty that what was said in scripture came from a conscious God-being. It may be jibberish written on pages.

I’m not certain if God really didn’t want man to be alone by reason alone.

Hmm ok, but absolute certainty isn’t possible for any of us really. How do you “know” Australia is surrounded by water before satellites showed pictures… you trusted the one making the map was honest and had good information themselves. At some point a bit of faith in them was required. Make the leap!

God loves man.You can infer this from philosophy just like the saint thomas aquinas did. Now,god is full truth and no deception.God naturally wants to lead man to him.For in god there is perfection and it is due to that perfection, that we can be eternally happy with him(for he has no defect). Now,it is clear to all that no man was made equal to one another.I don’t look like johnny nor does he look him me.I am not as clever as tommy nor is he as dumb as me.God did not expect every man to be a philosopher,so he used various other methods to bring man to god.The holy scriptures was one of the tools. In the scriptures we can find the god that philosophy told us about. We can hear of the various miracles befitting god.We can hear of his love for mankind. We hear of his omnipotence, omnipresence etc etc.Since god is the truth the holy scriptures must of necessity possess truths.Follow the truth and you shall find the holy scripture

I could go on and on.Point is;From what i remember,in no point in the holy scripture does god talk as if man was not man but some other being or not man at all.

To expand a little on your thoughts… I was walking and thinking and praying this evening… when what sprang into my mind? Truth and beauty… The Lord who made us all made also so many paths of truth and beauty that at least on of them will attract each of us and draw us into appreciation so that we will eventually be lead to the creator… Beauty in the sunshine. Truth in DNA… beauty in the laws of nature. Truth and beauty in the working of simple machines… Beauty of horses. Truth in the properties of water… just to name a few…
WOW!

They are good responses but I’m looking for more affirmation that God wouldnt make me the only conscious human in existence.
I don’t know if this will help, but I know other people exist (and are conscious) because they communicate to me things which I could not have come up with on my own.

And I believe in God for the same reason, among other reasons.
