How do you respond best when someone says this to you:

And I am looking at Project Rachel’s website. I see 13 stories (of people they have helped). 13 is not 1000s. And I don’t see anything on their website that condemns these women for their choices or suggests that other women should not be allowed to make the same choice.

How would I respond to this? I would laugh.

Certainly no one thinks that Project Rachel has helped **only **13 people because there are 13 testimonals on the website.

Any person putting forth this argument is being dishonest.

And I don’t see anything on their website that condemns these women for their choices or suggests that other women should not be allowed to make the same choice.

Project Rachel is a ministry of the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church is clear regarding its teaching that abortion is always gravely wrong. The Church is also clear that any sin can be forgiven, and offers this healing ministry to those who suffer because of an abortion.

I would suggest they stay with the site until they understand what Project Rachel is about. If women who have undergone abortion do not need heeling, who does? If they don’t believe these women can receive God’s love, mercy and forgiveness, how do they expect God to forgive their own transgressions? Are they really naive enough to assume that because 13 people told their story on this site, only 13 people were helped?

Project Rachel is about healing. Think about this, Confession is a Sacrament of Healing. Would it be right after Confesson to condem the person who has been healed?

As Jesus said “neither do I condemn you, go and sin no more” -

Project Rachel honors the confidentiality of those who they minister to, 13 of those women have been brave enough to allow their stories to be made public, that is a brave thing for those women to do.
